How to Make a Twelve Rush St. Brigid's Cross

Here is another St. Brigid’s Cross design found around the country. This 12 rush version was found in Wexford and is one of my favourites. Very easy to make and well worth a try.

Thank-you very much for recording this! I just made one tonight here in downtown Vancouver. It was raining earlier but off I went to the large city park by the sea to cut some rushes, and was happy no park person scolded me for it, hehe. I love the finished piece; it's currently at the window next to a piece of fabric I've placed there as well. Hey, why not request blessings in the second year of a pandemic, right? ^_^ Wishing everyone very well and a beautiful Spring.

The rushes sounded like sticks when you tapped them against the table. Are they stiff, rather than flexible?

Where would you buy this material? I live in Canada and have no idea where to find a rushes…

I didn't know you could buy it, I'm from the countryside in Ireland so it's pretty much in every field lol but I just googled and there's quite alot being sold online, some can be expensive though? It's easily found in damp fields, but I don't know if there would be much damp in Canada?
