Yes I try to imagine what kind of video I would want to watch if I was learning to make jewellery. Id want to clearly see everything being done with constant explanations about the techniques and tools being used.

That sounds like an expensive stone! Use a burr to cut a small section out where the stones corner sits. Too risky to break if it touches metal

I just fluxed because the next step is to solder up the corner once its folded up. Ready to go. Doesn't need cleaning in acid then fluxing after annealing

I would say ignore people who keep demanding you make your videos shorter and shorter. As a society, we’re getting down to zero attention span with these short videos. I like the full instructional videos because it’s more like it would be if we were doing an apprenticeship, it’s real training like you’re standing there and being taught every aspect. There’s going to be some fiddly parts, some troubleshooting, things that go wrong, and you have to have someone there who can teach you how to deal with anything that could go wrong because that’s just real life. The problem I run in to is, say, I want to learn how to make a V-claw but the title of the video and the description is a full instructional on how to make a pear collet and the V-claw is just one aspect that isn’t mentioned in the keywords. That makes it harder for me to find specifics about which aspect I’m struggling with or want to know more about because the video is about making a pear claw, the V-claw is just part of it and isn’t the focus of the whole video. So me being on KZbin trying to find specific answers and explanations, that makes it harder for me to find what I’m looking for because there are so many aspects of goldsmithing, I mean it’s a whole world unto itself; digging through looking for answers is really difficult and sometimes impossible just because of the keywords that are used. Anyway, love your videos, keep making them, include all the details and every aspect because those of us who really want to learn and who aren’t just watching it to satisfy some curiosity but are actually making things want the details! I also find it oddly comforting that you talk to your tools and yell at them when you can’t find stuff, I’m so glad I’m not the only one who does that.
