Well put Gracie Cannell. I often wonder why some vegan food ( protein to he specific), has to resemble animal protein? Doesn't that defeat the purpose of going vegan in the first place? Just wondering......help educate me anyone.
@TheCharlieWebb6 жыл бұрын
Sebata Motaung Vegans don’t want to eat animal products due to cruelty, and making replicas of “food” makes it a lot easier for some to transition, and stay vegan. That’s why there is so many options regarding fake meat, such as fish and chicken. I want to be able to eat meat, but I don’t want to abuse an innocent creature when there is no need.
@sebatamotaung47216 жыл бұрын
@@TheCharlieWebb Thanks for your response and explanation however, I still don't get how it wouldn't be repulsive (as vegan) to pretend to be eating meat or animal protein replica. If this is all about creativity to make food appealing on the plate, I don't think all foods need to resemble animal protein to look appetizing. We can all make different choices in life hence all the choices available out there. I'm just confused when the animal cruelty rational is used. I wouldn't want to eat something that reminds me of something I'm totally against, if you get what I'm trying to say. Anyway, thanks for your help in understanding this matter.
@haechanshighnotes51016 жыл бұрын
Sebata Motaung I think it depends on the individual. For some people eating foods that resemble animal proteins reminds them of the food they enjoy, minus the cruelty to animals. To them it’s like a win-win situation. I understand how it might repel *some* vegans, but it’s all down to the individual. It’s like eating vegan chocolate for example. It still resembles normal chocolate, but is cruelty free. People like to be reminded of all the foods they used to like without animal cruelty being involved. It has nothing to do with reminding themselves of animals harmed etc. It’s more to do with habit and wanting to still be able to eat the same kinds of foods. Also, it makes the transition process a lot easier because it’s easier to adjust to eating food that resembles food that we used to eat. 💕
@barci7586 жыл бұрын
maybe it's hard for you all to believe but non vegetarians can be animal lovers too u know. not all eat from farms. they hunt animals who grew up in a healthy environment and respect their food. and at the same time give up everything to save an animal's life. I don't know how to explain it. but that's how it is.

DaisyV lol all female chickens lay eggs no matter how they are bred (although how they are bred does have an affect on how often they lay eggs). They are only fertilized if the female has access to a male. Eggs are part of their menstrual cycle just like humans. Lol male chickens don’t lay eggs, so I’m not sure what information you’re trying to base that off of.

She is saying that new chicks need to be bred in order to keep the cycle of egg laying hens going, and in that process male chicks are obviously also born, and since they can't lay they are killed as chicks, or sometimes sold as meat birds. So males chickens are killed because of the egg industry

This is so cool! It seems like an awesome alternative to the traditional chicken egg. After doing a lot of research on the egg industry, I've gathered information I wish I knew a long time ago! Eggs are a part of the chicken's menstrual cycle, esentially a period. In nature, hens lay 10-16 eggs per year. Nowadays, hens have been bred to produce 250-350 eggs PER YEAR. It creates a lot of damage to the hen as you can imagine. It takes a lot of the hen's stored calcium to create an egg. Thus, when they lay such an unnatural amount, they are losing essential nutrients they need to survive. many of these hens will die because of this. In most factory farms, they are subject to cruel and torturous conditions. In egg hatcheries, all of the male chicks that are born are immediately thrown into a grinder where they are ground up alive because they are of no use to the industry as they cannot lay eggs. There are videos of this tht you can see on KZbin. As you can imagine, it is deeply disturbing and tragic. There are so many other heinous acts done in the farming industry, and I strongly encourage everyone to read about them. wow this was a long comment sorry haha thx for reading if you got this far

About the mason jars... I use a lot of alternative flours and it's impossible to keep big bags of every type of flour. In my opinion, I like the beauty of handcrafted ceramics and when people are making a KZbin video, they're usually going to use their nicest looking utensils/containers etc. There is nothing wrong with wanting to put your best face forward when you are putting yourself on the internet for everyone to see. Tried these tonight & they were delicious ~ a great fried egg substitute! It took a few tries & I had to thin my 'egg white' batter (added 1 Tb more water). I used 1/2 cup canned pumpkin (worked well). Loved both the white & yolk part of the 'egg' - the consistency was spot on. I did, however, run out of the white part & next time would double that - I had plenty of yolk. They somehow stuck to my nonstick pan, but worked well in my small cast iron pan, well oiled. I liked mine flipped over briefly, 'easy over' style, although not as cute. Fun to make & taste just like eggs! Thank you for posting ~ I am sure I will make these many times again! :) Highly recommend.

This looks delicious as always! So... after years of being vegan and watching and being inspired by my favorite vegan youtubers (including you of course!) my twin sister and I finally decided to start our own Vegan Cooking Channel! We've wanted to make videos for years but always gave ourselves excuses like: "We need professional lighting", "Our kitchen isn't nice enough", "Our filming equipment isn't good enough"... etc. But we finally just decided to hell with the excuses! The predicaments are never gonna be perfect and that's ok! Because our first and foremost objective is to get our recipes out to the vegan community! And hopefully even curious meat eaters. Being vegan is our life and cooking/baking vegan is our passion. There's been so many trials and errors and coming from an ethnic family there have been so many recipes that we couldn't find veganized online so we had to make them ourselves. So we really just wanted to share our wisdom and love and passion with the community that we feel so belonged to. I apologize for the self promotion but we know how supportive the vegan community can be and we think that ultimately there's no shame in reaching out for support. We are just super excited to start our journey and appreciate it if you check out our channel. We hope that whoever reads this comment has an amazing day, joyful holidays, and a happy life. 💜 The Vegan Twins

This is the problem with vegan cult movement. The amount of waste created in terms of packaging for all the products, the huge amount of drinking water used to produce all the rice flour, corn flour, environmental impact on the coconut plantation industry, chemicals used to create the salt, the amount of energy wasted to produce all the ingredients not to mention that all these products being shipped from across the world hugely increasing greenhouse gas emissions and list goes on and on..and all this just to really badly recreate something that chicken produces every day regardless of whether you decide to eat it or not...and then the vegans will have the audacity to stand on a moral pedestal looking down at others...

@@agees924 i wasn't necessary comparing, i was pointing out that food transportation around the world (all foods!) is fast becoming one of the biggest contributor to greenhouse gas emissions...and most vegans do eat imported foods same as everyone else...just look at the origin of some of the ingredients for most of vegan products...the final product can be produced in the country you live in but the ingredients comes from around the world..anyway in the same breath i'm aware that not every vegan makes this stupid pointless fake eggs every day..

I watched cheap lazy vegan's video and came to check you out. A couple of questions. The coconut milk, is it the canned coconut milk or is it just from a carton? The canned stuff has more fat in it, may be that's why hers tasted like pancake. How did you get the edges so crispy, is it just you left the pan to get really hot, coz her's looked more rubbery.

@@weantoine Tbh just from the ingredients, it doesn't sound great. The 'egg yolk' would have a starchy texture which probably isn't pleasant, and the 'egg white' would be more like a rice noodle. Not very appealing for something that's supposed to be an egg.

You can't leave this empty: True. However we need this cholesterol to build up the cells of our body. Everything can be good or bad depending on the amount. For example one beer a day or week can prevent kidney stones, but 10 beers a day everyday for few years will ruin your liver. Eat what makes you healthy and happy in appropriate amount and you should be just fine.
