How To Make A Wedding Cake

White Cake Recipe Ingredients ►
8 oz unsalted butter (Room temperature)
14 oz sugar
6 large egg whites (fresh not boxed at room temperature)
14 oz AP flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp almond extract (use clear for a whiter cake)
1 tsp vanilla extract
10 oz milk (Room temperature)
2 oz vegetable oil
Easy Buttercream Ingredients ►
16 oz unsalted butter (room temperature. You can use salted butter but it will affect the taste and you need to leave out additional salt)
16 oz powdered sugar (sifted if not from a bag)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
4 oz pasteurized egg whites
1 TINY drop purple food coloring (optional) for whiter frosting

I am having confidence Problems...I made a Wedding Cake for a friend for 50 people last November, and it was...This next month my Husband sort of volunteered me to make a Cake for a smallish wedding, what he told me, that turns out to need 250 Servings. Motivation and confidence- check and check! I really admire that first-ever wedding cake - especially that you were working from books without knowing all the tips and tricks. Of course, your remake is flawless. So love that you shared this. I have such a desire to decorate cakes but I have ZERO creative ability. My first wedding cake was super simple. I actually did my first one when I was 12 🙊 it was for my sister. It was 3 tier, white with wide red velvety ribbon (Christmas wedding 🙊) around the bottom of each later, and it was made of rounds. I WISH my sister had wanted square. That is super great. My mom was a baker all of my childhood and before I was born, and she had me super trained. Lol. That was the most elegant cake I've ever done. It wasn't for a few more years that I realized I wasn't very good at anything except that cake 😂 details, details, details! I've gotten much better at birthday cakes, but now I'm absolutely afraid to do a wedding cake 😂
