I made one of these and it was so easy and it is durable. My 15 pound cat sits on it with ease. Thank you so much.

Great Video! Thanks so much for making it, I have been wanting to make my cat Enzo a cat perch for the longest time. So now once the weather gets a little nicer I will be out in my workshop making this perch, I think Enzo will love it.

This is much safer than the suction cups on windows.

That's a great design, especially with the carpet insert since that can be removed and cleaned or replaced when hairballs happen. :)
@joelydic7 жыл бұрын
Definitely! You can just take the carpet out, throw it on the floor, and run the vacuum over it and it's good as new. Thanks for checking out the video!

Another option instead of carpeting, is a rubber backed bath mat cut to size. Easy to wash.

Is there any alternatives for screwing it on the window sill? I still live with my parents and they dont want me to destroy the window sill. If there is please notify me it would be a great help
@joelydic6 жыл бұрын
I understand. You might be able to clamp it somehow with the clamps that Lowes and Home Depot sell. You can always just fill the holes with sand-able wood putty and then just paint the window sill. You won't even be able to tell that it was there. That's exactly what I did and it looks perfect. Hope this helps and good luck! Thanks for checking out the video!

You could buy a commercial cat tree at roughly the same height or higher as your window. Of make one that is free standing with a base and legs.

Yes, screw a piece of 2x4 to the wall under the sill, and mount the perch on the 2x4. dry wall easier to fix than damaged window sill. can also use shelf brackets

You could also secure a thin strip of sheet metal to the entire length along the front of the board, so that the sheet metal functions as a lip between the window and sill to help support the perch, especially if it is window that is seldom opened. And it just occurred to me that for a lot of old style wooden framed windows, you could use an L shaped piece of sheet metal and screw it to the perch and then place the other half of the perch under the open window and close it on top of the sheet metal. That would make it secure and easy to move to other windows.

I have ceramic window sills. What could be a work around since they aren't wood? I'm afraid to crack them.
@joelydic4 жыл бұрын
You definitely need another option. They actually sell reasonably priced set ups similar to this. Some of them are just suction cups on the window. Hope that helps and thanks for checking out the video.

What if I dont have a saw, can I go to Homedepot and have them cut for me?
@joelydic6 жыл бұрын
Yes. I believe that they will do 1 or 2 cuts for free and then additional cuts are maybe 50 cents. Hope this helps and good luck with the project. Thanks for watching.

I have a 20lb corgi that loves looking out the window would that be able to hold her weight?
@joelydic5 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't make any guarantees, but I would imagine that it would hold. Just make sure that you put several screws down through it an be sure that it is nice and secure. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and good luck!

Great video but one problem... I don't have any of the tools XD
@joelydic7 жыл бұрын
A great way to start accumulating tools is to hit garage sales. You can get some great deals and a lot of the tools I have are from garage sales. Good luck!
