This Window Cat Perch or Cat Window Bed project was cheap, fun, and easy to make. In this video I go over how I made this Cat Perch. If you want more pics and a description on how I made this, check out my site over at: www.woodlogger.com/

Thank you SO MUCH for using tools that most of us would have in our garage!

This looks like something I, as dinnertime who has never done any kind of woodworking, can actually do! I have a garage full of scraps and tools from my father, so like you, I don't think I'd have to purchase much. I even have the rug pieces. Thanks for this video!

A good tip I read from another video is to use velcro on top to secure the bedding so that you can take it off and wash it later!

It was smart to show the finished product at the front of this video. I want to see where the project is heading at the outset before I watch the entire video to see the result. Some similar videos forgot to do that, which I found annoying It seems like you could also use some chain to help support this board by securing some chain from the 2 back corners farthest from the window to the top of the window attached via cup hooks or something similar I noticed one of your comments mentioned suction cups and I have zero confidence in using suction cups, especially when it comes to supporting something more than a pound. I am just looking for ideas now and I am definitely going to use a couple of your ideas here.

Nice video. I wonder why you wouldn't just remove the narrow window sill and use that scrap wood to make a wider one...

aransom808 Yeah I could have. I wasn't 100% sure I'd keep it in this window, or move to another one.

I need a better attachment method as silicone suction cups are degraded by UV and fail in less than a year here...

What upsets me about this, and I'm sorry for commenting just to say this, is I don't have any "leftover" scraps, etc. So either I'll have to buy these pieces or have them custom cut just for this project. It just is no help to me & that is the reason I'm looking these videos up in the first place. 😏😛 Sorry. I'm sure you did a great job ! 🙄 PS. I ended up purchasing one from a store online, and installed it. I like it very much, but more importantly, my cat, Echo, likes it as well ! 😉 Good luck out there ! 💕

How many people who are wood workers are there who don't have scraps of wood laying around ? What do you normally do with left over wood when you are done a project ? If you have never done any wood working projects previously, then you would probably need to buy a lot of expensive tools to do this project too and it would thus not be cost effective. All those things considered, make your comment seem ridiculous. You were better off just buying one online if you have no skills, no scrap wood and no tools.
