I do woodworking as a hobby. Recently moved and discovered how much I love birds. I started building bird houses. Anyways i have an idea for one but was thinking i’d need to carve parts of it. Stumbled upon your channel. You seem like such a wonderful person. Great teacher. And you’re funny. Just want to say that. I’m enjoying your channel. I’m going to buy a dremel and give it a try.

Hey Jordy. What I’ve done when using the thinner boards like 1x6 is I add a piece of scrap wood where the nose is and it allows me to get a little more deeper around the nose area. Feather it out Jordy feather it out.

Jordy, put masking tape or painter's tape along the cut line to prevent the rip out along the edge. Fasten a straight edge of some sort onto the wood with clamps and rest the edge of the saw along as you saw to keep it straight.

It turned out very nice, last year I had a similar idea with the chainsaw. Unfortunately no bird wanted to move in yet ...
@mylastnerve1384 жыл бұрын
I'm watching this for the third time right. My daughter made a birdhouse out of a coffee can in high school right had orange camo like on it. We mounted it on my mom's fence by god if some song bird didn't move right into it. I'm only mentioned it because u some orange spray paint left. I bet they'd move into a halloween bird house.u got some halloween 🎃 lovers in the group 😉

Don’t worry about the cracks if your using it outside. You need vent holes in top and drain hole in the bottom. I usually trim the bottom corners off. Also I hinge one side with nails so you can clean it out.

Wonderful project, can I ask anyone actually making a box for REAL BIRD NESTS, could everyone please make sure the boards are at least 12mm thick, this is so the chicks don't freeze on spring mornings/ evenings.In Britain, a roof board was 15mm about 5 yrs ago. I made boxes for a school eco group to sell at fairs, plain box sell for min £10 pounds ( bucks). Cost to make each one 10 inches high ,6 inches deep.£ 0.75 pence ( cents,pennies) each,including screws. Oh,and place min 7ft high and facing north east ish direction. For best results,good luck with your chicks 27days after sitting starts. Sorry its a bit of a rant but had to say. Sorry.
