If you tack the wood down with steel nails and then use the abrasive wheel, aren't you ruining the wheel?
@RedbeardWoodDesigns3 жыл бұрын
I use the grinder lightly on the surface. It doesn't go deep enough to hit any screws/nails.

Thanks again for the video I’ve tried something like your tree houses but over here in the uk I can’t get a tear drop extreme cutter do you know any alternative to the kutzall . Anyway thanks again and keep up the good work Ian.

Thanks! Try Saburrtooth burs. They are another great choice to carve with.

Pretty but it’s not a bird house. Bird houses MUST have a clean out door. Do your research. Could easily be added.
@RedbeardWoodDesigns2 жыл бұрын
The face comes off to have easy access to clean out the birdhouse.
@louislandi9382 жыл бұрын
Did not see that. Critical to get rid of old nesting, mites, etc.
@markb8954 Жыл бұрын
Folks always say this, and many houses that I make & sell have fronts that lift for cleaning. But, i have many nest boxes in our garden that are used year after year, primarily bluebirds & nuthatches & Carolina Wrens. I never clean out & the birds come back. Maybe in areas where it doesn’t get below freezing it’s good to clean out to get rid of any parasites.

This is too small an artificial nest. I understand that a small nest is easier to make, but it is useless. You should either glue the boards into a shield, or take wider blanks or boards...

Birds seem to loves the houses. I always have some in the wood spirits.
