I've never heard of using baking soda without an acidic component. I would have thought of baking powder if I was using regular sweet milk. Can't wait to try it!

Grandma baked apple dumplings

I made this today. My first time making apple dumplings. Everything looked good when it went in the oven. When I took them out of the oven the had all flattened and ran together. The crust is more like that of a cobbler. So I call it my apple cobbler. Tastes delicious but not like apple dumplings.
