I work in the industry as a 3D-Modeler, Supervisor and I do understand the creative process in the pre-production, I love writing ideas, stories etc. myself. But the ongoing collaboration of film & music throughout the production is somewhat magical to me. I would be interested in knowing how this interlocks on a daily base and how you go on it in the creative process.

Not neseccary...as a theater artist, I had to take a scene from a play and direct it...I had to create a storyboard, and you don't need to be an artist or professional drawer. as long as you draw your idea down, then when you share it with others they will at least have an idea. That is the reason for a board. But to be professional drawer, is not important. Because you will continue to articulate your thoughts with the other designers. But as a writer or director, no need to draw, just to jot down your intention on paper to showcase it.

No. Not really you can animate off the bat. The process of sketching is if you have a character in mind. Animating the character is the hardest part of animation. Modelling is easier than you think.
