How to Make an Award Ribbon

Supplies:
2 1/4" Double Faced Satin in Royal Blue: www.offray.com/...
1/2" Maggie Ribbon in Sapphire: www.offray.com/...
Cardboard or matboard
Cardstock
Glue Dots
Hot Glue or Carpet Tape
Rhinestones
Glitter
Pin back finding
Lighter or Fray Check (to finish ends)
Circle dies (optional)
Scissors
1/4" double stick tape or clear glue
Directions:
1. Glue cardstock to lightweight cardboard (like a cereal box) and cut out circles the size you want the center of your award to be. Cut an extra for the back. OR you can cut the circles from colored matboard. I used circle dies for this.
2. Cut 9" pieces of both ribbons at an angle for the tails.
3. Use glue or double sided tape to make a #1 on the cardboard circle in the front and sprinkle with glitter. Let dry if using glue.
4. Using hot glue adhere the end of the wide blue ribbon to the back of the circle. Keep adding glue and pleating the ribbon as you press the edge in the glue. Continue until you have gone around the circle.
5. Glue on ribbon tails. Add finishing circle to the back and glue on a pin back.

I hate that these comments go at the top at times. I loved the ribbon and with end of the school year, it is perfect for some of the younger guys graduating to first grade. Question: Any news on when Kathy's Stampin Up! website might be surfacing?

With the big shot plus (can handle 8.5 x 11) paper, if you didn't have your big shot would you get the plus or the regular big shot?

Mari Nyx I'd have to talk with someone who owned one to make sure that it does not lose pressure in the middle but if it worked good I'd go for the big one just so I could cut more stuff in one pass!

Hey Lindsay, I'm having a big problem. I haven't been able to create anything in the last couple weeks, no matter what I did it turned out looking really bad and it's really frustrating. I have to finish a painting for someone, but I can barely bring myself to work on it and when I do I just can't get it right. I don't need the money since I live at home but I don't want to disappoint the person. I feel really bad for making them wait. In the two years I've been painting this never happened to me and I don't know what to do, especially because this person is waiting for their painting. I'd appreciate you answering since you're much more experienced than me.

Ramo That happens to all of us sometimes, you are probably putting too much pressure on yourself, chances are what you have been painting is good but you won;t let yourself step away and look at the painting in the morning, that always helps. I suggest you stop working on the painting that is giving you troupble and work on something else, play music or listen to a podcast. Don't worry about it being good, just play with paint. Then once you feel calm and centered return (or restart if needed) the painting that you are stuck on. Putting pressure and high expectations on ourselves are creativity killers. You need to take a little break and know that it's OK:)

Laurie Cass glue dots, I make them from Aleens Tack It glue but you can buy the premade too:)

parthandkhanna I suggest an artist portfolio, they can be made of cloth, cardboard or leather. I recommend ones that zip up around the sides so dust can't get in. You can order then online or find them in a art store. We had stores called Ocean State Job Lots that always have them cheap in many sizes.
