Do opposite in rx, turn down the vocal knob, isolated the instrument, go to adobe audition, do phase cancellation, the result better than just isolate the vocal in rx

Yes it's true. I used to use a lot of mixer channels in the past too but since like last year i never really use more than like 20 channels because that's all I need. I like to keep stuff simple and clean

That is the reason why ideally you would want to mix on a flat/neutral pair of speakers. Your headphones are most likely colored a lot and that is why they don't translate well.
