Traditionally found in the region of Campania, and hailing from the beautiful city of Naples, ziti are best enjoyed in delicious, tomato-based recipes. Baked ziti is really tasty and easy to throw together, making it the perfect mid-week meal option. Follow Roberta’s tips and guide and perfect this sumptuous southern dish.
Ingredients:
- 2tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion
- 1-2 cloves garlic
- ½ tsp chilli flakes
- 500g tomato passata or 2 tins of chopped tomatoes
- 1 tsp salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 350g ziti
- 120g ricotta cheese
- 50g Parmesan
- 250g mozzarella cheese
- 15g fresh basil leaves
