I have a air-fryer machine & I'm going to try to make some spicy garlic herb beef jerky in my machine & have it with some beers & potato chips! Jim Greszczuk

Looks pretty tasty and I'm sure it was eaten long before any potential bacteria might have grown haha. The moisture was cause you used super fatty cuts. You're meant to use the leanest cut you can find, excess fat just turns rancid in long term storage

Oh yeah it was GONE! 🤦🏻♂️😂😁 But yeah that’s so interesting! Since this video we did realize that’s the oil from the fat and have made some more! Any idea of the best way to store it and how long it can last??? Last time we made it we had kept it in one of those click top mason jars, and we didn’t get to finish it all and threw it out a couple months later even though it still looked and smelled fine. 🤷🏻♂️

@@WhereWeWild We vacuum seal ours in portions we will eat and freeze it. It can almost be eaten directly out of the freezer because of the texture. But if you take it out just before a hike it should be fine in your backpack for the day. Or keep it vacuum sealed and put it in the ice chest when you go camping and it should be good to take out each day for whatever you have planned. And like the comment above, choose the leanest cuts or trim the fat the best you can. It won’t last forever unrefrigerated because of the lack of preservatives but that makes it much better for you! I know this is an old video so you have probably figured out what to do by now! I also want to say, I just discovered your channel yesterday and have watched almost all the camping videos. Like others have commented in other videos, you guys seem realistic, down to earth, and practical. It’s refreshing! Thank you for the content!
