How to Make Cake Mix Pancakes | Easy Funfetti Pancake Recipe

In this episode of In the Kitchen with Matt I will show you how to make cake mix pancakes, more specifically funfetti pancakes. This funfetti pancake recipe is easy to make using very simple ingredients and of course a cake mix box. Next time you want to make a cake or have pancakes why not combine the two. You can use whatever cake mix that you want. :) If I can do it, you can do it, let's get started!

Ingredients:
1 cake mix box (any kind)
2 large eggs
1/4 cup of oil (vegetable, canola, olive, etc.) (60mL)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour (plain flour) (60g)
2 to 2 1/2 cups of Milk (500 to 625mL)
Tools:

Such a fun recipe. I use to make these back when my kids were small. The banana but bread in a box works well as pancakes too. I think I may do this next time the grandkids sleep over. A few weeks ago we made homemade marinara sauce with meatballs.

Thank you!! They are already pretty sweet as is, so I don't normally eat them with pancake syrup, but you certainly can. :) :) Chocolate cake mix pancakes would be great! I did a video on how to make chocolate pancakes already, although it was from scratch and not using a cake mix. But they are pretty good!

I just made the plain pancakes..didn't have any buttermilk had to make my own buttermilk and my own maple syrup.I added additional ingredients. .everything was delicious...my kids couldn't get enough said they were the best I ever made. [Side note..they were right]..lol.thank you for sharing..

I wonder if you can add 2 to 3 beaten egg whites with 1 Tbsp sugar to make Japanese jiggly puff style pancakes? I have never seen the Japanese souffle pancakes in flavors so that's what made me think to try flavored boxed cake mix to make the Japanese version. I will try it and see what happens. Love the birthday pancake idea!! They look great! 🎉

For this specific recipe it depends entirely on the cake mix that you use. Find a low calorie or less sugar cake mix and try that. :)

You can but the pancakes will be tough and chewy, so it is better to use all-purpose (plain flour). :)

Hi Heather, because you want it to be more like a pancake in consistency, than and actual cake. The extra flour helps with that. :)

You can make cake from scratch as well to make this. You can use any cake batter really and just cook them like a classic American Style pancake.
