Love mine and so does my USMC Son. He takes his on every deployment and his unit team looks forward to a cup before or after a mission in the field. He is a USMC RECON EXTRACTION TEAM LEADER, now recently a Proud VETERAN 👏.

I remember being in far away lands, a long, long time ago, and how precious a good cup of coffee was. Thank you to your family for your sacrifice and service.

Great video! The steeping is called blooming and is needed for only a couple of minutes. We’re all a little coffee snobs wanting fresh coffee on the trails!

Great video! I just received mine yesterday and made a cup of coffee for my husband, who of course had to ask "why another coffee maker?", lol. I normally use the pour over for our coffee at camp but this set up looked easier and it was! Thank you for sharing.

To put the legs on you open 2 of the legs and attach them to the can then unfold the third leg and it will lock right in. I read the instructions that came with one of mine.

A trangia stove nestles perfectly in the kit and can use any alcohol-based fuel- even hand sanitizer. Also, the Coffee Rocket is fantastic--kind of like a manual Keurig.

Quick question, why do people add a time limit like 4 - 6 minutes? If I turn off the flames when it comes to a boil, and stir in the coffee then wait 5 minutes to pour my cup..what happens to the rest of the pressed coffee if it sits on the press? After 5 min are you supposed to take out the coffee from there so the ground beans dont keep releasing flavor? Im trying to understand the time limit hahah..or is it just to get enough flavor to finally drink it?
@Useaname2 жыл бұрын
I prefer filter coffee. I have a filter set up for camping. Pressed coffee just stews the coffee in the cup.
@mauricesmith4270 Жыл бұрын
You don't have to wait that long about one minute been doing this for years

Is it best to use coarse ground coffee with these?
@FlewTheCoop Жыл бұрын
I go with a medium ground. My concern going to fine is seepage past the filter. But I also like the flavor of a medium ground.

I was wondering if I could boil water in mine with the lid on. Thanks!
@FlewTheCoop2 жыл бұрын
You are welcome!
@boudhanotdead88552 жыл бұрын
Be aware thought that the lid is heat resistant only, not totally heat safe. The seal of the lid started to melt slightly on mine, maybe because I was using less water (1 cup). I made a metal lid from the top of a cookies container. Now totally heat resistant and about half the weight of the original one.
@jackieflynt9952 жыл бұрын
Is there another Stanley product that has a metal lid that would fit the press? I would like to cook in it, too.😎

How many scoops/ounces of coffee do you use for a full press?
@FlewTheCoop2 жыл бұрын
2 heaping teaspoons per 10 ounces. If I need a bit more of a kick start 3, teaspoons with an extra couple of minutes for the coffee to steep.

When backpacking ( especially Ultralight ) extra weight is a commodity you do not want. For that reason my coffee making is simple and I guess sort of primitive. It's the Cowboy style Coffee simple and darn good. Made in a pot over a alcohol or wood burning backpacking stove.
@FlewTheCoop2 жыл бұрын
Yes sir. I made true cowboy coffee a couple of trips back. Good stuff.
