Your videos are so very helpful. I am new to candle making and this was so incredibly informative, right down to the clean up! I have saved this video and will keep returning to it to refresh my memory. Thank you so much. I watch a lot of your videos, last night I watched the calculation one you did on wax and fragrance. Excellent. Cheers.

Love, love, love my candle wax melter!!! Yesterday I spent the morning just pouring single 8 oz tins testing out about 25 of my fragrance oils. I love that it was so easy to dispense and not one drop of wax was spilled. I’m new to candles (I make soaps and lotions) so testing out fragrance oils in the wax was wasting a lot of product. What I mean by that is I would make a pound of wax at a time, add my fragrance oil making two 8 oz candles plus one 4 oz (give or take). If a fragrance oil is not up to par I have wasted three tins, fragrance oil plus wax...not to mention clean-up every time. So what I ended up doing was taking an empty eight ounce tin and slightly bending in the sides to make a “pour spout.” I added the correct amount of wax, fragrance oil and stirred. I poured it into the wicked 8 oz tin, wiped out the now empty tin and repeated the process. When a fragrance wasn’t right or strong enough before and/or after burning I would toss it. Ps...for us newbies take notes! I was already forgetting which fragrance oils I had tried previously and if I liked them or not. I also included notes about the cold throw, hot throw as well as the burn pool. Bonus to the melter is that there is no cleanup!. You leave the unused wax to cool until you are ready to melt it again. So that was a very long-winded but very grateful thank you!

I enjoyed watching so many of your videos. Since I'm a beginner in candle making your videos really helped me a lot. I live in Taiwan and it's easier to find tins to make candles. My problem is the candle would separate from the tin after cooling. Is it because I added 20% beeswax? Is there anyway to avoid this happening?

A few questions. Do you have issues with shipping your candles in the warmer summer months like melting etc? Also if I am using 464 normally, do I have to use a different wax during the summer months like a 444? Also which wax would recommend over all 464, 444 or 6006? You mentioned pouring at a hotter temp to avoid bubbles but doesn’t pouring hotter cause sinkholes? Is there an ideal pour temp to avoid sinkholes and bubbles? Also, why are you using the htp126 instead of the 104’s you usually use in your other videos? What wick would you recommend for a 16oz jar with 3.25 diameter? I’ve learned so much from your videos, thank you!
@StandleyHandcrafted
@StandleyHandcrafted 5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Abad Pouring hotter does create more sinkholes but pouring too low can cause more bubbles on top. There is a fine line between which one you want to have and fix. With these tins the sinkholes don’t really happen becausee they’re a wider diameter. This is also why I went up a few wick sizes as well, the wider diameter.
@paulinportsva4464
@paulinportsva4464 5 жыл бұрын
I heat the oven up to 170 degrees while pouring candles at 170 degrees. Then I let the wax cool just enough to form a skin. Then I turn off the oven and place the candles in the cooling oven. This slows down the cooling process. I never get sinkholes
