I was using soy wax for a long time however, I didn't find they offer great HT, tried a paraffin blend ended up loving that.. waiting for my order of 4627 to arrive.. hoping I will love it.

Great idea using the pen casing to push the wicks to the bottom of the vessel. I have some tall but slender jam jars which I was thinking I could only use wood wicks with. Thanks for the tip!

Try a few candles with 3-10% stearic acid added. You will find it much easier to wick. Only downside is the wax wont be translucent anymore. Also a 44 zinc wick works great in that wax. It mushrooms just like all the others, but the scent throw is a bit better, and because it has a zinc core I think its safer since the wick wont fall to the side.

Thanks Jeff' I'm using this wax for years off & on. It has fantastic HT no matter what FO is used.... But bc my customers are soy & coconut lovers. I don't use it as much. Great video boss😃😁

How do customers even know what wax they like. Before making candles I never thought anything about the wax a candle had. I’m just curious cause I’m thinking of trying only paraffin.

@@Md-pp8sk I didn't know anything about wax myself as a customer or candle maker.... when I started. Each time I purchased I tried different waxes. Soy wax was best for jar candles. Paraffin wax is best for pillars and wax MELTS- but there are softer paraffin waxes for jars but very hard imo to wick. Good luck!

Don't know if you'll get this Jeff but in a previous video of this product you added FO at a lower level of temperature and poured lower. Did you notice a big difference in the candles?

I do that a lot with soy 464 so the oil doesn’t burn off as much. It helps a little bit I go back forth on if it’s worth the wait. Lol

Do you still use the GB464 or are you now solely using this wax? Also in gb464 are you adding FO at the lower temp or at 180 degrees? Thanks

Hi Jeff! Thank you again for the great video :) I have 25lb of the 4627 coming in, and I have never worked with it before. I love working with paraffin for the hot throw. For my particular vessel which is 3 1/8", would you happen to have any recommendations for what I could use to double wick my container? Thank you again and I would love to see follow up videos on the 4627! :)

@@quincyj6509 yes afterwards I realized that somehow he may have misunderstood me. Those wicks would be way too large to double wick my container. It would explode lol.

Looks like you have a green vessel but there is no green shown on 16 17 website. Is that actually the blue vessel that shows green???

You can add a little 4625 and it would harden up this wax quite a bit.

Hi Jeff, thanks for video. What does the .85 represent in your calculation as I want to convert to metric. And because this paraffin is so soft, to harden a little can I mix with soy and if so what ratio would you recommend? Thanks

Put the wax in a small tote out of the bag and keep an ice cream scooper in the tote with the wax. So easy when I grab my tote take the lid off and scoop. Thank me later

I have the exact same size vessel but I’m using 6006 and I can’t find the perfect wick I notice the dipping with most wicks. I’m considering switching wax because I love this size vessel. What wick would you recommend for this container but with 6006?

IGI 6006 is notoriously difficult to wick, especially in smaller vessels. A wick that seems to small after you light it can often be to big once it gets to the middle of the vessel. It’s a great wax but it requires a lot more testing to get right.

Hi Jeff. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I have a question. Have you used 4733 wax before? I am getting back into candle making and I bought this wax to begin with. I’m having a problem. I don’t know if it’s the wax or the fragrance oil. I’m using Candle Science Very Vanilla. I’ve found that after the candle is finished, some fragrance oil is left under the wax. I added 10% oil. Now I have made candles using 8%. Don’t know the results yet. Do you have any insight?

Have you encountered a problem with soot? In my testing stage with IGI 6006 I was testing so many candles that my walls are covered in black soot. In fact even once I found the perfect wick and burn too many candles I would have soot building up over walls and cabinets am I the only one?

It's more likely due to a wick that's too large or too much oil. I use 6006 with HTP wicks and have no soot at all.

@@StandleyHandcrafted wow that's crazy. I'm using eco 2 in jelly jars, and eco 4 in status jars with a 10 percent fragrance load. Maybe it's to much oil like you were saying, I didn't really consider that thank you:)

I cure my candle no longer than 4-5 days and 4627 has a real nice hot throw.

The older video was using the low temp method and the higher temps are much easier to get nice blending with. Manufacturers suggested temps are around 180-170 for heating and adding oils.

@@inklabdesigns I love the low temp method but I usually stick to pouring hot for efficiency. I can pour and keep moving on to more candles. Pouring cooler with 6006 can help with glass adhesion and sinkholes but I would rather pour hot, keep moving and deal with sink holes after.

Hello Jeff - I have a question concerning the 4627 Wax. You did a video a couple of years ago in which you cooled the wax to 130 degrees, then added the fragrance oil. You said it was to prevent the fragrance from burning off. In this video (same wax) you say to add the oil around 180 or so. Has the wax changed? Why 130 then and 180 now? Thank you.

Jeff, have you experienced a blackish gray Smokey residue left on the tops of cocosoy, wood wicked candles after they’ve been burned and cooled? It’s a problem I’m having and am afraid to sell them.

I’ve used and tested 4627 numerous times, single candles by themselves to test. For this tutorial I was showing how to test multiple wicks for new vessels for a beginner.
