Hi Jimmie, thanks for the video. You mention "washing the crystals" after they have formed one time with cold pentane. Can you say how much cold pentane and at what temp you need to wash the crystals? Also, do you have a preferred method for chilling the pentane, like in a another reactor with attached chiller or do you use a freezer? The first option seems better simply because a freezer isn't a safe place for hydrocarbons/solvents. Thanks!

i always do 1:1 washes atleast. -45c pentane kept in a deep freeze. so if you started with 1 liter of distillate and crashed your cbd. drain your Mother Liquor and use 1 liter of sub zero pentane. as many times as desired. when the cbd isolate is white as snow we drain under vacuum. empty into pans. place in vacuum oven for atleast 24 hours.

What is the best way to dry the isolate? Would you suggest a vacuum oven OR could you use either a blast drying oven or a food dehydrator??

blast drying oven like the one that used to make milk powder. The cheapest way is vacuum oven on low heat.

1 part of Distillate dissolve in 2.5 parts of Pentane. I got 90%. You can get higher yield by reusing mother liquid.

@@juandavidrivera3858 it seems as though you're leaving behind most of your CBD still in your mother liquid. You need to use more pentane to allow the crystals to suspend and then crash out it seems as though your mother liquid might be too saturated to have a good seperation. I would recommend for every kilo of CBD disty to use at least 2 kilos of pentane/solvent and don't just leave it set at a certain temperature overnight, you have to gradually keep going lower and lower over time ideally to -40c or as close to it and then make sure you evacuate the system of excess mother liquid as soon as full seperation is getting close because if you just leave it overtime you'll start homogenizing the CBD and mother liquid again.

Yes, that is true for home application. But for larger commercial use, people prefer isolate for its purity. So they can make each batch exactly the same.
