*DISCLAIMER* As a few of you have asked I thought I'd plop this here :D You do NOT need maya to do the tutorial! -------Everything I do in Maya you can do in Blender!---------- (At the time of filming I only knew blender for 3 days but knew Maya for 11 years so I could work faster in that one hehe x ) SO Ultimately EVERYTIME I say "something something" Maya, Stay in blender and do it there! :D

After very carefully trying to follow the tutorial 3 times and not working I finally found out what was wrong and it's embarrasing HAHAHAHAH maybe if someone is like me... here it goes: make sure you paste andrew's thing on your mods folder HAHAHAHAHAHA THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL

Hi! Thank you for taking the time to make this video! I am sure I did absolutely everything, but the food isn't showing up in game at all.. Question: do you have to merge or do anything with the 'Slice' package, or does the 'Slice' and 'whole' package just go into the mods folder separately? x

Hi Tasha! Hmm sounds like something is / has been missed OR if you have the new update and have a lot with "Simple Living" Cowbuild told me it won't turn up unless you add this snippet! 261810 Re: the slice and Whole , they should both be together in the mod folder, when you're satisfied with how it is you can then merge the package into one! If you're still having problems please let me know and I'll up the troubleshoot list here

@@PixifiedTips It's so nice of you to reply, thank you. I've started trying to make my own custom foods, but I'm finding it so hard, mostly with Blender and the textures! Could I ask you a couple of questions if you have time? I would be really grateful. I'm sorry to bother you but I've watched every tutorial I can find and am still struggling! Here are the things I'm really struggling with: - once opening up an EA food mesh, and deleting the food mesh, can I just 'add' mesh and start creating the object right there? Or do you need to create a mesh object in a separate file, import it into the EA one and join them? - do you need to join the plate with your new food mesh? - Do you know how to 'combine' a UV map so that the colours for a partial serving and for the whole serving work on both? - once you've made (e.g. a whole cake), and textured it, saved it, do you then recommend using that same file to then make the partial serving (e.g. a cake with a chunk out of it) and saving it as a new .blend? Or do you start a whole new fresh file to make the partial/medium serving. - Lastly, but perhaps most importantly, if for some reason a food mesh isn't loading into sims4studio.. do you know why that could be? Honestly any help at all would be a huge huge help at this stage, I'm totally stuck!

@@tashaturner7659 Hi hun! I've written out the troubleshooting steps here! (if there are probs it means a step was missed!) Troubleshooting: 1. did you download lenaid's file? 1a. did you dl all the files from the pixified tips foodmaker? 2.in s4s did you pick selective clone, then the object button? 2a. did you click debug 2b. did you pick the WHOLE version of the food? 2c. did you make sure it was all selected before ticking ok? 2d. did you save it in your mods folder? 3. did you click meshes and extract, 1 multi serve larg, 1 small and 1 smaller? 4.If you're making the food in blender; (assuming your food is already in blender with the ea food) 4a. did you click the ea food then press; tab, a, x, delete vertices? 4b. did you click your new food mesh, shift select the orig "s4studio_mesh_0" then join them? 4c. did you save it? 4d. did you repeat that for all your pieces? i.e. large, small and smaller? 5. In s4s, did you select the shadow tab in meshes? 5a. did you export all the shadow meshes; 1 multi serve larg, 1 small and 1 smaller? 5b. did you open a shadow mesh in blender, import your completed work from part 4 and join YOUR plate and YOUR mesh together? 5c. Did you click on the shadow "s4studio_mesh_0" then press; tab, a, x, delete vertices? 5d. did you click your new food mesh, shift select the orig "s4studio_mesh_0" then join them? 5e. did you repeat that for all your shadow pieces? i.e. large, small and smaller? 5f. did you re-import your meshes into every LOD geomerty state in s4s? 5g. did you re-import your meshes into SHADOW lod every geomerty state in s4s? 5h. did you click warehouse, locate a dst image under the one that has texture and import the blankbump you downloaded? 5i. in warehouse, Did you click the picture under the one you JUST did, click import then select blankspec? 6. in warehouse did you click object definiton and locate the original food's name? 6a. did you click extract tuning and type in your ea's original foods name? 6b. did you select all the recipes related to the ea's original food name and add it to your package? 6c.In recipe tuning LARGE did you click, data and edit the name? 6d.In recipe tuning SINGLE did you click, data and edit the name? 6e. Did you put all the details you changed in 6c and 6d in the pixified food note keeper? 7.in pixified food note keeper; under multi and single plate did you edit the top line with your own name? 7a.in pixified food note keeper; under multi and single plate did you edit the bottom line with your own name? 7b. In s4s did you click hash generator, paste in ONE of the names from step 7 / 7a and copy the FNV32 number? 7c. did you paste the number back under the RESPECTIVE name in the pixified food note keeper? 7d. did you go back to the hash generator , click decimal and copy the FNV32 number? 7e. did you paste the number back under the RESPECTIVE name in the pixified food note keeper? 7f. Did you do this for both the Multi and Single Plate? 7g. in pixified food note keeper; did you copy the Multi plate Hex32? 7h. in s4s did you click object definition, select instance and PASTE your number in? 7h. in s4s did you click object catalog, select instance and PASTE that SAME number in? 8.The files you have here are via clicking, recpie tuning on single, and copying the name pasting it in the keeper, then pasting the tuning ID underneath it. 8a.in pixified food note keeper; under rename recipe tuning related, did you copy the single name? 8b.in s4s did you click recipe tuning, xml, LOCATE "base recipe" that has the word single in it, paste over the green name with yours? 8c.in pixified note keeper, did you copy the tuning id of the one grabbed in step 8? 8d.in s4s on the one you in step 8b did you paste your tuning ID over the numbers RIGHT next to the green text? 8e.in pixified food note keeper; in multi and single plate, of the Multi plate's line did you copy the Dex 32 number? 8f.in s4s did you click recipe tuning of LARGE, LOCATE "definition" and paste your number AND corrosponding text? 8g.in pixified food note keeper; in multi and single plate, of the Single plate's line did you copy the Dex 32 number? 8h.in s4s did you click recipe tuning of SINGLE, LOCATE "definition" and paste your number AND corrosponding text? 8i. did you save? 9.in s4s did you click selective clone, then the object button? 9a. did you click debug 9b. did you pick the SINGLE version of the food? 9c. did you make sure it was all selected before ticking ok? 9d. did you save it in your mods folder? 9e. in pixified food note keeper; under multi and single plate, on the SINGLE PLATE'S INFORMATION, did you copy the hex32? 9f. in s4s in object definition, did you paste the number in instance? 9g. did you click object catalog then did you paste the number in instance? 9h. did you repeat steps 3 - 5 to import the food slices and the shadow food slices? 9i. did close the food slice and reopen your MAIN FOOD? (you're now working on the MAIN FOOD) 10.in pixified food note keeper; did you go to name change related, and change all NAME SLOTS TO YOUR NAME & FOOD NAME? 10a. did you copy the first line in the name change, go to s4s open the hash generator paste the name in, and copy the FNV32 then paste it back in the keeper? 10b. did you do this for all of the name change related sections? 10c. did you copy the first name in the name change and copy it? 10d. did you go into BOTH recipe tunings, locate "name" and paste name in the green section? 10e. in pixified food note keeper; did you select the Hex32 of the one you picked from step 10a. and copy it? 10f. did you go into BOTH recipe tunings, locate "name" and paste it AFTER the 0x ? 10g. in pixified food note keeper; did you copy the name-bake's name? 10h. did you go into BOTH recipe tunings, locate "phase interaction name" and paste it in the green ? 10i. in pixified food note keeper; did you select the Hex32 of the one you picked from step 10g. and copy it? 10j. in s4s did you click the top flag, edit items, add (go to note keeper copy the FIRST hex32) and paste it in key then write a friendly name in value? 10k. did you click add again, (go to note keeper copy the SECOND hex32) and paste it in key then write a friendly name in value? 10l. did you click add again, (go to note keeper copy the THIRD hex32) and paste it in key then write a friendly name in value and save it? 11. in s4s did you click batch import and import the xml snippet you were made to download in step 1 then press save? 11b. did you go to main menu then reopen your main food? 11c. in pixified food note keeper; did you copy the LARGE RECIPE TUNING DETAILS, Tuning ID number? 11d. in s4s on the snippet you added, in xml, did you paste your number in the black zeros under recipe list? 11e. in pixified food note keeper; did you copy the Multi plate name at the VERY top and paste it in the green section in s4s in the recipe list? 11f. in snippet tuning, data, did you edit the name copy it and THEN paste it in the hash gen? 11g. did you copy the FNV32, then back in the snippet tuning DATA tab, did you paste your fnv3d from 11f in instance and press save?

lol that's HARDLY the wasy way. Just extract all the xml and data files and use an advanced text editor or vscode to replace all the id's with Replace All

@@PixifiedTips I’m the same person who made this comment, I’m in an alternate account, but, no it does not work, because there are too many things that are different about the way they’re coded and the recipes are made differently. This tutorial works great though for food

Does this work with single step baking like Cupcakes? Or is that harder to make a custom recipe for in the sims?

my recipe tunings at 3:26 are missing for the slice mesh, do i just add the hamburger cake to the package with tunings?

hi fairy! thank you for waiting xx When you say missing, is that because they weren't added to the keeper in the previous steps? If so I think you're gonna have to redo everything because I don't know what'll happen if you miss a step xx Otherwise it'll have to be trail and error I'm afraid!

What if I just want to sort the existing recipes in game? Move some between cooking and baking? Somehow re-categorize what's breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and desert?

Oo.. (In general what I'd do is grab the food of the one that does what I want so I know what the code is, i.e. grill000 copy and paste it into my one and test that it works!) I've done some research and this written tutorial maybe the one for you: sims4studio.com/thread/12963/adding-ingredients-recipe As for category, I haven't been able to find anything about that, I'd suggest copy something that's already a breakfast food and putting it on top. In the pixified food note keeper, scroll to the bottom I added the names of the snippets to change where it's baked from x Do excuse the delayed response on this!! x

How would you change the object tuning of just the custom food without it effecting the original as well?

Hi Green! Hmmmm by changing the custom food's object tuning, the same way you change the original's tuning I'm thinking! I'll be hoenst I don't actually mod much (or play the sims 4) so once a tutorial is done especially after a few days my knowledge around the individual subjects tends to go out the window to allow me to make another tut! For these questions I advise you write them in s4studio's website where people can offer more help!

Hi! I hope you can help me with a problem i'm having. For some reason one of my recipes is overriding the other. When i have both of the recipes in my mods folder, one of them overrides the other in a weird way on the cook menu. Instead of showing recipe a and b it'll show recipe a and then recipe b with no name and when i cook the no name b recipe it'll serve recipe a. However if i have them in separately they'll work fine. Is this because I'm using the same clone and recipe tuning for both recipes. I'm making french toast btw, so i used the clone and recipe tuning of the base game french toast, but obviously i've changed the tunings and names and all that. Do you know what's causing the problem?

Hi There! Yes your assumption was correct! The computer reads what there is. there for is you have two files with the same name it'll pick them both! Make sure you create unique names ( qhich makes unique Hasgens) for each segment x

For the single serving (plated for sims to carry), I don't have any recipe tunings in the warehouse. I cloned pan de muerto. Did I need to import tunings for this step??

Troubleshooting: 1. did you download lenaid's file? 1a. did you dl all the files from the pixified tips foodmaker? 2.in s4s did you pick selective clone, then the object button? 2a. did you click debug 2b. did you pick the WHOLE version of the food? 2c. did you make sure it was all selected before ticking ok? 2d. did you save it in your mods folder? 3. did you click meshes and extract, 1 multi serve larg, 1 small and 1 smaller? 4.If you're making the food in blender; (assuming your food is already in blender with the ea food) 4a. did you click the ea food then press; tab, a, x, delete vertices? 4b. did you click your new food mesh, shift select the orig "s4studio_mesh_0" then join them? 4c. did you save it? 4d. did you repeat that for all your pieces? i.e. large, small and smaller? 5. In s4s, did you select the shadow tab in meshes? 5a. did you export all the shadow meshes; 1 multi serve larg, 1 small and 1 smaller? 5b. did you open a shadow mesh in blender, import your completed work from part 4 and join YOUR plate and YOUR mesh together? 5c. OH goodness Sorry I didn't see this comment! I'll be making a pipeline video on how to use blender for beginners in a month or so for skillshare (as was suggested!) But in 4 &5 weeks a blender tutorial on how to uv and paint will be coming... However I suggest you look up how to: 1. import objects in blender 2. move objects in blender after you have those down you'll be able to follow this video as everything else is mainly done in s4s! Always start off with a simple project first, then with your new knowledge you'll be able to bring it all together!

hello. thank you for the video. I just followed the video and made a cake, but when I took the finished food out of the oven, there was no food, only an empty plate. What am I missing? Any help would be appreciated.🥰

Hi Algu! Oh my... Hmm.. we've done some troubleshooting here and there usually based of wether "cottage living" is installed (the answer was added to the description.) Could the sims still eat it? If so It sounds like the mesh didn't take (Or rather the texture didn't work on the cake) thus making it look invisible.. If the sims can still eat it we'll troubleshoot from there! Worst comes to worst you can hop in my discord and give me the file to play around with when i have some free time

Hi there Makabun, If you have something that has 3 sizes you'd need to edit all the tuning ID's! When Following a Tutorial I've found if you use the example shown and you get the correct result. You'll have a better understanding which will allow you to expand upon your knowledge! I've offered for people to hop into the discord so we can screenshare doing the tutorial together in the comments below so feel free to hop in ! I've also written word for word the tutorial which you can use to see what step you missed.

Something went wrong. The recipe is displayed, you can also prepare it (aka grill, because hamburger), but the dish is not served and remains on the grill and cannot be finished.

Hi Evan! Sometimes the sims 4 updates and gamepacks can break these things sadly (I haven't bought a new pack for the sims in 5 years so I'm nto sure if one of those could be causing an issue) BUT till then we can Troubleshoot! Troubleshooting: 1. did you download lenaid's file? 1a. did you dl all the files from the pixified tips foodmaker? 2.in s4s did you pick selective clone, then the object button? 2a. did you click debug 2b. did you pick the WHOLE version of the food? 2c. did you make sure it was all selected before ticking ok? 2d. did you save it in your mods folder? 3. did you click meshes and extract, 1 multi serve larg, 1 small and 1 smaller? 4.If you're making the food in blender; (assuming your food is already in blender with the ea food) 4a. did you click the ea food then press; tab, a, x, delete vertices? 4b. did you click your new food mesh, shift select the orig "s4studio_mesh_0" then join them? 4c. did you save it? 4d. did you repeat that for all your pieces? i.e. large, small and smaller? 5. In s4s, did you select the shadow tab in meshes? 5a. did you export all the shadow meshes; 1 multi serve larg, 1 small and 1 smaller? 5b. did you open a shadow mesh in blender, import your completed work from part 4 and join YOUR plate and YOUR mesh together? 5c. Did you click on the shadow "s4studio_mesh_0" then press; tab, a, x, delete vertices? 5d. did you click your new food mesh, shift select the orig "s4studio_mesh_0" then join them? 5e. did you repeat that for all your shadow pieces? i.e. large, small and smaller? 5f. did you re-import your meshes into every LOD geomerty state in s4s? 5g. did you re-import your meshes into SHADOW lod every geomerty state in s4s? 5h. did you click warehouse, locate a dst image under the one that has texture and import the blankbump you downloaded? 5i. in warehouse, Did you click the picture under the one you JUST did, click import then select blankspec? 6. in warehouse did you click object definiton and locate the original food's name? 6a. did you click extract tuning and type in your ea's original foods name? 6b. did you select all the recipes related to the ea's original food name and add it to your package? 6c.In recipe tuning LARGE did you click, data and edit the name? 6d.In recipe tuning SINGLE did you click, data and edit the name? 6e. Did you put all the details you changed in 6c and 6d in the pixified food note keeper? 7.in pixified food note keeper; under multi and single plate did you edit the top line with your own name? 7a.in pixified food note keeper; under multi and single plate did you edit the bottom line with your own name? 7b. In s4s did you click hash generator, paste in ONE of the names from step 7 / 7a and copy the FNV32 number? 7c. did you paste the number back under the RESPECTIVE name in the pixified food note keeper? 7d. did you go back to the hash generator , click decimal and copy the FNV32 number? 7e. did you paste the number back under the RESPECTIVE name in the pixified food note keeper? 7f. Did you do this for both the Multi and Single Plate? 7g. in pixified food note keeper; did you copy the Multi plate Hex32? 7h. in s4s did you click object definition, select instance and PASTE your number in? 7h. in s4s did you click object catalog, select instance and PASTE that SAME number in? 8.The files you have here are via clicking, recpie tuning on single, and copying the name pasting it in the keeper, then pasting the tuning ID underneath it. 8a.in pixified food note keeper; under rename recipe tuning related, did you copy the single name? 8b.in s4s did you click recipe tuning, xml, LOCATE "base recipe" that has the word single in it, paste over the green name with yours? 8c.in pixified note keeper, did you copy the tuning id of the one grabbed in step 8? 8d.in s4s on the one you in step 8b did you paste your tuning ID over the numbers RIGHT next to the green text? 8e.in pixified food note keeper; in multi and single plate, of the Multi plate's line did you copy the Dex 32 number? 8f.in s4s did you click recipe tuning of LARGE, LOCATE "definition" and paste your number AND corrosponding text? 8g.in pixified food note keeper; in multi and single plate, of the Single plate's line did you copy the Dex 32 number? 8h.in s4s did you click recipe tuning of SINGLE, LOCATE "definition" and paste your number AND corrosponding text? 8i. did you save? 9.in s4s did you click selective clone, then the object button? 9a. did you click debug 9b. did you pick the SINGLE version of the food? 9c. did you make sure it was all selected before ticking ok? 9d. did you save it in your mods folder? 9e. in pixified food note keeper; under multi and single plate, on the SINGLE PLATE'S INFORMATION, did you copy the hex32? 9f. in s4s in object definition, did you paste the number in instance? 9g. did you click object catalog then did you paste the number in instance? 9h. did you repeat steps 3 - 5 to import the food slices and the shadow food slices? 9i. did close the food slice and reopen your MAIN FOOD?
