As a classically trained musician who wants to change my path towards modern popular music, thank you so much for this video. You have now opened up an entire world to me that I had been struggling really hard to keep up with. You're amazing!!!

Thank you! I know a lot of producers that were in your shoes. Once you get past the basics you can really fly because of your musical training. I'm glad you found the video helpful, all the best with your production going forward!

How do I get my 3rd party WAV samples to show up in the esx without having a .esx file? I've recently updated to Logic X, but don't remember ever having to have a .esx file for my samples to show up. Edit: Tony, I’ve been looking for hours for a video on this subject, and you’re the only one who has touched on what I want to do here. I recently updated to the new Logic from Logic 9, and I’m having trouble viewing my sample banks in the Quick Sampler. In Logic 9 (from what I remember), all I had to do was place my samples in a certain folder for them to show up in the esx. It seems no matter where I store the samples now, when I try to access them in the Quick Sampler, they’re always greyed out. I’ve added them to a folder marked ‘samples’ in the same location you did, but I don’t have the .esx file to add anywhere. Any help would be much appreciated, as this is seriously frustrating.

Subscribed this was very helpful as I’m starting to make house music! Do you have a playlist you’ll recommend for a beginner??

Thank you! I do not, but that's a good idea. If you're a beginner, maybe start with my free Logic Pro course: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fn6zZWmgfbmlf5I

At the volume levelling I need to drag my instrument's volume to -12 db so they don't hit the 0db mark at Stereo out. Is this normal? I am still at -0,3 db at the stereo output even though I turned down the separate volumes this much.

The attack time on a compressor does not affect how fast or slow the compression occurs but is the time it takes after crossing the threshold for the signal to hit full compression as determined by the ratio.

Congrats on making the first step! All that matters is getting a little bit better or learning something new every time you open the DAW. 행운을 빕니다.
