Looks good, I'm going to try this, thanks! My only suggestion is to maybe mix it up more to get it as fine as possible

Welcome to my Kitchen…it’s great to meet you!!! I agree with your comment 100%. Since I made that video, I discovered an amazing yet simple kitchen tool for just this sort of thing that I absolutely love! Farberware 5211438 Professional Heat Resistant Nylon Meat and Potato Masher, Safe for Non-Stick Cookware, 10-Inch, Black a.co/d/056QXfm This is one of the best tools I never knew I needed. I don’t get paid anything for recommending it, but if you don’t already have one, I highly recommend it. Enjoy! - Deb

Thank you for sharing this recipe. Just found out about your channel. I'm gonna go see what other videos you have. We're learning -- no, better improving -- our cooking techniques. Due to Covid, we didn't want to eat out, and now, we find that eating at home is cheaper. It's just so unaffordable to eat out that often. So, we're learning from Pro's like you on KZbin. Thank you.

Hi Deb- I have been on a number of food boards seeking The original ground beef recipe from Taco Bell from the 60's 70s and 80s. I know the TB tacos were far better than today's and I know basically it was when TB got sold to YUM brands in the early 90's and started cutting corners on fresh ingredients. With all due respect, are you saying your recipe comes somewhat close to the original? I hope so... I have never come close in my trial and error process. Thank you!

Hi Ron and welcome to my Kitchen!!! I can say with confidence that this is an EXCELLENT facsimile of the original TB meat. Mr. Deb’s Kitchen worked at Taco Bell in the late 7os and even cooked up hundreds of pounds of “the good stuff” and he says this tastes just like it, if not better!!!. It’s terrific in classic tacos and my homemade version of the TB Crunch Wrap. (We have a video for that, too!!!) We also love it for taco salad, nachos, burritos, and the list goes on. This is a great multipurpose recipe, so I like to make extra to reheat and use for other meals. Please give it a try and let me know if you agree that it takes you back to the TB you remember. I’d love to hear from you. Enjoy!!!! - Deb

@@DebsKitchen I will try this very soon. I am excited about it. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I have really spent years trying to replicate the original Taco Bell taco from the 70s. I'll let you know how it turns out.

@@DebsKitchen Also, What does Mr Deb's Kitchen say about replicating original Taco Bell taco shells? ha ha. Or are there any boxed taco shells at stores that would suffice or did TB make their own corn tortillas? Thx for everything!

Hi Ron - Mr. Deb’s Kitchen here! Taco Bell bought corn tortillas (I can’t remember the brand but I don’t think they were any different than if you got them at a Mexican grocery today) and we fried them on site in peanut oil. Everything was cooked or sliced/chopped/grated on site in those days including meat and beans. Wish I could find a good copy of their shells but haven’t found anything that compares. Maybe it’s the peanut oil? Hope you enjoy the meat recipe. It’s the closest I’ve ever had to the original! Cheers!

@@DebsKitchen Maybe it is the peanut oil. I will try! Thanks to you both for taking a real interest in my questions. Will report back once I head to the kitchen to create the masterpiece. :)

You are too kind!!! I’m just really passionate about bringing families back to the dinner table because I know that’s where families are built. I witnessed it first hand at our table as our Brady bunch became a family while enjoying good food, lots of laughs, some serious talks and shared experiences that were uniquely ours. I'm gluten free so I'll just replace the flour with an additional tbls of cornstarch. But great job.

Welcome to my kitchen Snowblo! I’m happy you’re here. You’re absolutely right that that’s the perfect substitution without losing any of the delicious flavor or texture. (BTW - I like your YT “handle” - makes me think you live in a colder climate than I do.) Enjoy!!! - Deb

Hi Becky! Welcome to my kitchen :-). You're right that there are A LOT of ingredients to this recipe. The goal was to make something that was VERY close to Taco Bell's flavors. I actually think this recipe is far better than Taco Bell but still hearkens back to that flavor that so many love so well. You make a good point though. I'll start experimenting on a simpler taco meat recipe and see if I can come up with something worthy to post! Cheers! -Deb

Your recipe is close to Taco Bell. The color is a bit off. Needs more of a red/orange hue to it. Taco bell adds food coloring.

I would hope it’s better than Taco Bell - if it’s not, there’s a problem because Taco Bell is not real meat

You’re right about that David C. Mr. Deb’s Kitchen worked at Taco Bell over 40 years ago and there was just meat and spices back then and no filler and there’s no filler in my version either…just the great taste of classic Taco Bell taco meat. ☺️ - Deb

Hi B! The beef tastes GREAT (assuming that one likes Taco Bell taco meat flavoring-although I think this is better!) and we’ve been working hard to improve our photos and thumbnails so that they are more appealing and better represent the food. Sometimes it’s a “swing and a miss,” but we’re always striving to improve! Thanks for watching and leaving feedback-Happy Thanksgiving!
