Hello and welcome.
I got a request from one of my follower, asking if I could make a video on how to extract cold pressed coconut oil from dry coconut crumbs, which I agreed to do.
The process is almost the same like extracting cold pressed coconut oil from fresh coconut, the only difference is at the beginning.
Instead of keeping the mixture in the fridge for three hours for the oil to harden, it can as well be kept in the freezer for about thirty minutes. Please not longer than thirty minutes else the water can get frozen. Only the oil should harden.
I hope this video will be of help to you.
Thank you very much for visiting my channel.
Please do remember to like this video, leave a comment, share the video and subscribe to my channel.
Thank you very much for your support.

kiara`s diary, thank you for your feed back. If this be the case, put it by a sunny window in the house or on your balcony/veranda.. and see if it will melt. Did you use dry coconut crumbs for this recipe? There are two grades of dry coconut crumbs: One still with cream and oil, and one whereby the oil has already been extracted. Which one did you buy??

Oh tnx. Got your message a bit late. I've sieved the soak today and the water was quite milky. I've left the water to settle, BN bout 6 hours now, I know unsaid it should be that way for 24hrs. But out of inquisition I went to check it now and I can't see any oil floating on top. Rather I know the very milky part had sunk and the water is clearer on top but no oil seen. Should I worry?

Yes, you can definitely prepare coconut crumbs at home. It is quite easy. Separate the coconut flesh from the shelf, if you wish scrape off the the thin brown skin, then grate the coconut flesh and sun dry it. Make sure it is completely dry, else it will go bad.

Dear can you please tell me 400g of coconut crump extracted how many oil? And how can I calculate it?
@cecilvig
@cecilvig 4 жыл бұрын
Barie Claire, 400 grms will be approximately 5 to 6 glasses of dry coconut crumbs. Please measure using the normal water glass not the very small one, and not the very big one. It is difficult to estimate the quantity of oil you can extract because some coconuts are oilier than others. It is also impossible to extract all the oil from the crumbs using the method in the video because it is done manually. If I can do a rough guess, you may be able to extract between 3/4 of a glass and 1glass. Many Blessings to you dear🙏🏾
