Lot of people think reselling is easy. They are wrong. It's hard work, takes dedication, and lots and lots of research and practice.

Sooo glad you made this video, when I'm not making sales I go over every listing and check my descriptions and I re-do my listings add keywords so important! and re-take photos! I dont pay for a VA, I share my own closet, I don't buy huge pallets and get ripped off! Stop listening to this big resellers that are mainly scamming the newer peeps, believe me I've bought many mystery boxes from big resellers and had so many flaws and expired products not worth it! Hand pick your own items and do your own research of what is selling, what are the trends, what are the expensive brands that you need to write down in your notes in your phone to keep for reference when your thrifting and check comps on eBay and posh to see if that item is even worth it, so many times I will have a full cart of items I think are cute and nice quality and nice brands, checked comps and put back most of them because the comps are not worth it! I've made alot of mistakes but now super picky about every piece I pick up and check for flaws also! Since I've been doing these things, I have noticed my sales have increased tremendously!

Great advice. I've sold on Posh for 7 years now, and I'm usually listening to a video such as this while I'm working. I have learned you have to take everything with a large grain of salt. What might not sell for others can very easily sell for someone else. Don't take what everyone says as Gospel! A lot of sellers just want to put out KZbin content so they say reiterate what others are saying, or give advice that isn't practical, but is easily sellable.

Yes! At the risk of sounding stupid, I spent the first two years of reselling just buying something because it was cute and 50 cents, not researching brands or anything. Those items sat for forever and I ended up sending boxes and boxes to thredUP. I also was searching “Poshmark selling tips” on KZbin all the time.m, hoping there would be some new info that would finally help me. So glad you’ve made this video for new resellers who may be stuck in the same rut I was for so long!

Preach it sister!! Sometimes we/people just need tough love. But.. These new sellers and some older peeps also need to realize clothing has a longer tail. I watch some resellers who are 6 figure sellers who have items that took a year or two to sale. Reselling is not a get rich quick scheme without good knowledge and foundation. Which is why we love you and your knowledge you give us weekly! ❤❤

Fantastic video. Bad sourcing sinks so many resellers. I disagree with those who keep saying "buy what you like". I buy only what comps well. I leave behind tons of "cute" items but my sells are consistent.

@theresakralik18203 жыл бұрын
Good message! Might I add that the biggest obstacles to overcome is "pre-conceived notions." So many people are unwilling to hear the message. I sell hard/home goods as well as jewelry and clothing and I don't get to choose if something is good and therefore sellable and hopefully valuable. As resellers, we don't create the market and set market value. Previous sales (recent comps) dictate the price an will sell at. So many people disregard reality. Certain items and fashions have ran their course and are nolonger relevant and desired. So many people get wrapped up in the psychology of a sale and think something is worth a certain amount just because it use to be good or simply because it is old or cost a certain amount when new. If an item isn't selling them most likely the price is too high. If you only have a 20% sell through rate then most likely your prices are too high. (Exception: prelist seasonal and waiting for that season). Pricing is key to getting sales. Get it listed and at a reasonable price and it will sell!!!! Like you said...regardless of all else.

Thank you for this content, I am so shocked at the number of people saying do this, do that, for some reason lately just one reseller saying buy this tool. I try to get good product, good picture, list at least a couple of thing in draft at night to list the next day. I feel like their are too many resellers wanting you to spend $200 on a manuel how to resell but when they did it they started from zero. I appreciate your honesty about reselling and tips without it costing extra.

Love this, I have struggled with this and since the new year, revamping again. I'm actually going to take lots of old inventory to BST & if they don't want it do a big garage sale this spring to flush a lot of bad inventory, garage sales are huge in my area, then take that money and reinvest in better items.

@cayleyelaine Жыл бұрын
Could be different for each person but I'd say about the same # of items you list every week should be about the same # of packages you sell each week. That would be the goal. For me consistent sales means sales every day. But I also list every day.

Hi! People calculate str in many different ways. Ebay solds only include the last 90 days of sales. I personally just gauge whether the solds overall # is about the same or more than the available. In my opinion, that sounds like a great str! And I list regardless of season. Hope this helps!
