This is the only video I could understand to make continuous binding! Placing the edges together to show the lines and then explaining that the lines have to be offset by one made it so clear to me, thank you!

Thank you for this video! I love the tip from one of your viewers to cut your square a multiple of the width of your binding. A tip from me - I slip a small cutting mat inside the tube so I can use a rotary cutter for cutting the strip. It’s easier, faster, and neater than using scissors.

I have watched 4 videos, with 4 different techniques and this is the only one that is explained slowly, and completely. I was able to follow along and it made sense. I have been sewing for 45 years and was always unsure and nervous about making bias tape until now. I am confident I can do it. A huge thanks!

Thank you so much! I finally understood how it's done! Btw: I experienced that, if you multiply the width of the bias you are aiming for, you don't end up with a last strip that is too narrow. (For instance: if you want a 5 cm bias, cut a rectangle of 20 x 20, 25 x 25, 30 x 30 and so on. For a 4 cm bias: 16 x 16, 20 x 20, 24 x 24 etc.) Thanks again, you made me save a lot of fabric!

Watched over and over. Got it the first time on your video. I did have to keep going back to make sure I got all the steps. Came out awsome and the seams are beautiful!

I used to have a laminated card that showed this method but when I moved it wasn’t with my sewing items. The card gave square sizes and gave the number of inches that particular square would make. It also showed putting the right sides together and sewing them together. Also drawing the lines. I love this method and think it makes so much sense. I also agree that bias binding is stronger than straight binding for a usable quilt. I hope I can find a chart that shows those sizes. Sue Heinzelman.

Well that was more of the same. There are umpteen videos showing how to do this. But not a single one that I can find that DEMONSTRATES HOW to calculate the size square needed to make the amount of bias needed. Lots of people GIVE the formula. That means NOTHING to me. I would love it so much if someone anyone SHOWED me HOW to calculate it I have dyscalculia so telling me numbers is the same as giving me a book to read in ancient script. I won’t understand it. Tell me a hundred times. I won’t understand it a hundred times. SHOW me HOW and I’ll get it.

I heard from a previous video that it yields 4 yards of bias. You can make your own 18 inch square and measure after cutting and pass on what you measured.

That’s because she couldn’t be bothered to finish cutting the tube. But it is continuous all of the strips are automatically sewn together. Too bad she didn’t let us know how long the bias tape is from that square Fabric she started with. I found a much better video though. They don’t say anything in the video but the camera work is a lot better.
