This is the best cornbread I have ever had. I made it with some sharp cheddar and pickled jalapeno slices that I diced. But I take exception with your comment that Southern cornbread is made with sugar. I certainly never had any in the South, even though that is where I grew up and had it quite frequently. perhaps it depends on where in the South you lived. I love your channel. It is quickly become my favorite along with your friend's channel, "Smokin' and Grillin' with AB".

Just made this using a 8x8 glass baking dish. Left in the over for nearly 25 minutes and used the toothpick test. However, I noticed that the bottom center of the cornbread wasn't fully cooked. I've read in several other cornbread recipes where they recommend allowing the dish/skillet to preheat in the over before adding the batter so I'm wondering if that would fix this. Otherwise, it tasted great. Anyone else try this using a glass dish? If so, how were your results?
