@@taileelilliesee6832 awesome thank you 🙏…depending on how much sauce you are making..just adjust the taste to your liking. I had a bit too much tamarind water because I want some excess sauce for later, but didn’t add enough taucheo. Add more if you like your sauce with a stronger umami flavour. Hope it works for you.

You should do a blind tasting between the 2 types of eggs. I am sure the Heritage would cost more, does it taste better? Glad you try the Egg Belanda. I am watching it closely to learn a few tricks. Looks delicious. You make my day. One of the dishes my mum cooked back in the sixties.

Hi @tean tan…haha not a bad idea..if I get another chance to taste test blind folded..I will definitely give it a go. I can certainly say that visually the heritage egg holds its shape better. The egg yolk does taste better than the supermarket egg. It does have a flavour..maybe from the hen’s own foraging in the garden. The supermarket egg doesn’t have any flavor. I guess it depends on what the hen gets to eat. I remember when I used to have a restaurant, my kitchen helper took all the food scrap home to feed her hens..including curries, chillies! Very often she gave me her home eggs and I still remember how good the egg yolk tasted and the yolk colour was bright red orange! Probably from all the curries and chillies. If you come across the heritage eggs at farmers market, it is worth buying to try them out. It will be expensive I suppose. However, I did poached the heritage eggs and ate with toast. I find the heritage egg fried is better than poached. Also from I can read on the internet. It seems the heritage eggs are better fried. One suggestion. Add a bit more fermented soybean if you like your sauce with a stronger umami flavour. I didn’t add enough as I had a bit too much tamarind water. Cheers, Victor

Oh lovely! Its just amazing seeing this other way to cook Asian food away from Thai and Chinese sweet and sours I have learnt. I think i have subscribed to too many channels, so many lovely recipes to try. It is a little frustrating seeing all this but only being able to cook now and again. But at least Ive seen it now so one day will try it out, I'll have to look out for salted fish. Saying that I'm sure Ive seen loads in the Asian stores and normal supermarkets here as its usually a Jamaican salted fish blocks then i can try the fried rice as well. Nice video as usual, nice to see you mess the kitchen up with the chillies. You don't want to see me cooking, I destroy our kitchen 😂😂

Hi Steve…ha ha…I usually tipped the seeds in the kitchen sink. But I couldn’t be bothered to reposition the camera. Good thing my kitchen bench is small, and easy to wipe down into the sink. Before KZbin become popular, most of us would look at recipe books and learn to cook from the book. I am one of them. KZbin has make it more interesting for viewers to learn and interact with a creator. Cheers, Victor

Barnyveld.... I think you mean Barneveld. It is a town in The Netherlands and it is famous for its eggproduction and its chickens. The chickens are called Barnevelders.

For hygienic reasons, u should use a spoon for tasting instead of using the ladle which u used for cooking the dish.
