Hey guys, this was my first time trying Tilapia, I was unaware of the potential hazards, but you can still use this recipe on any fish of your choosing. Thanks for watching! 🤗

I use cornstarch baking soda and baking powder and a teaspoon of vinger which makes the air bockets in the batter. But your fish on a cooling rack the paper towel will make it soggy

I love fried whiting filet. I like to put it between 2 slices of bread to eat it as a sandwich with tartar sauce and ketchup. And of course french fries on the side. So yummy.

I did this last night and it was boommmbbb!!! I did some shrimp too with the left over batter. Omg!!! So goooooodd. I accidentally used too much baking powder so my batter was hella thick, just like I like it.

this weekend i did a whole tilapia, frying it in a simple pan, one side at a time. i was hoping to achieve the results of the coat looking like a tempura like batter, but it came out like a fried chicken looking batter. i've seen something like that (the tempura appearance) in chinese pineapple fish, a beautiful appearance. the other good thing is that and i only realized it by experimenting without research the frying works with the batter to cook the batter and use the skin to bag the heat and fry through an alternative way of steaming. i put a few pinches of garlic salt to the batter and i believe the salt somehow dissolves and works its way in the fish meat. very delicious but the batter needs work, more on improving the appearance but the taste totally knocked it out of the park.

Don't put your fish on paper towels, because it makes it soggy. Better to let it rest on a cookie rack before you eat it.

This looks amazing! I love Tilapia. In fact, I have some Tilapia in my freezer that I am using this recipe with for our dinner tomorrow night. I don't do well with spice, so I'll use garlic powder and seasoned salt instead of the 'heat'. :-) Can you use a bit of buttermilk in the batter, or is water always the best choice? Thank you!!

I always use milk in my batter plus ONE EGG and no baking powder. Still, each to their own :>)

@soriyazz6 жыл бұрын
@@saintilrachel idk your budget or if you prefer fresh fish. We eat filet Swai or Catfish filet. Its thick fries golden brown. I dont like COD def not tilapia. I grew up eating fresh fish with bones but I dont really anymore
@whipschic6 жыл бұрын
Tilapia, Swai and Catfish are all farm raised, GMO fish!! It's not real and very unsafe to consume. You wanna always eat Wild Caught fish, seafood etc.. Never farm raised.
@lpjordan16 жыл бұрын
Yes, "Wild Caught" is it! Here in San Diego, you're Very limited. So that means mostly Cod & Rockfish or Snapper. One can go to the Asian stores for more variety, but 1) I don't fillet or scale fish and 2) I don't like fishy tasting fish. They wouldn't have time for me. Lol miss Catfish though...

is that farmed raised or wild Tilapia?? I ask that question because most Tilapia sold in fish markets are farm raised...There is one market that I go to buy fish and they stock wild Tilapia....Any type of farm raised fish is a no no in my kitchen....

Why do you always cook your shrimp 10 minutes, but you cook thicker bigger fish half of the time?

Looks good but tilapia isn't good for u. If u have an e-mail I'll send u a little information about this particular fish that u may not be aware of. I just believe in sharing knowledge. The final choice is up to each individual. Be well. Keep up the good work and great videos.
@gilbertarnold-percy5 жыл бұрын
Audrey Williams.... most of the information on the internet about Tilapia being garbage fish is patently false. You might want to read this. www.snopes.com/fact-check/tilapia-mutant-fish/
