Hi, this video is the quintessential example of making buffalo wings on the grill whenever you go outside to make food without any stove burner and you make whatever food on the grill or smoked food would be better than stove and burner however I agree buffalo sauce aren't buffalo wings unless use franks red hot sauce that's kind of sauce you used these wings is really mouth-watering wings thanks this video is helpful for everyone.

I'm definitely doing this but leaving out the hot sauce in the brine as well as the cayenne in the flour so I can mess with multiple sauces. I prefer my wings naked served with sauces on the side. Excellent recipe and demo. Grill fry. Who knew?

I do that too. So smart to clean your grill that way. Wire brushes scare me. Too afraid the bristles will break off. These wings are genius!

I agree too many cases of ingestion of wire bristles and then being lodged in the throat, stomach etc. Surprised to see ATK using a wire brush.

You can also use a batter to coat chicken and cook the same way for smoked fried chicken, yes the batter will crisp up...

90 minutes at over 400 degrees, seems a bit extreme! I can cook a whole chicken in that time at 350. If you want better penetration of your hot sauce don't mix with butter!

There are about 3 sizes of wings. -Luckily wings aren't easily overcooked (connective tissues). -Also people have their own preferences on how long to cook.

I grill my wing on grill mats with nothing but salt and pepper on them. I NEVER got dry wings, they basically cook on their own fat which renders. I always get rave reviews from people swearing its the best wings they ever tried. IF I wanted breaded crust I would just toss them in the flour and fey then for 10 minutes. No way I spend 2 hours to do a pseudo fry on my grill when either geilling or frying work better and faster

@johndough8219
@johndough8219 4 жыл бұрын
That's basically what they did with the grill. The only difference would be the smokey flavor. If you have a cast iron grill pan, preheat it in the oven before putting the chicken in it. You'll get the same marks and a little bit of char.
@snowandlightsmusic
@snowandlightsmusic 4 жыл бұрын
From experience.... not really, the oven needs to be really hot, and the wings drip a lot of fat. so even if you have aluminum foil underneath the dripping fat makes a mess and smokes A LOT! it's much better to cook outside... if you cook at a lower temp the flour doesn't crisp up and they stay looking white and uncooked :S
@dgmisal1979
@dgmisal1979 4 жыл бұрын
I do em in the oven a lot... not identical results, you kind of have to back off a bit of the breading (less fried chicken feel, more pub wings feel) but it works.

Lot of time and effort for a small finger food, sorry I love learning about why certain foods go together, but I'm totally confused with the sweet and sour ingredients eg to me its just canceling each other out, like why put in a sour ingredients then add sweetness to balance out the taste, so why put it in, is my thinking.

45 minutes in a lodge panini press in the oven without breading -crispiest skin (and stretched for more crispy). Easier and faster in an air fryer though, sauced half way through for a nice dry coating.

This show is a shell of itself when Christopher Kimble steered the ship. These chicks were cool back then but now that he is gone and these two are at the helm, they seem like they are in competition with each other. Doesn’t feel sincere, almost like it’s a forced effort to play nice. Quite frankly, what was once a fantastic show under Kimble’s leadership is now unwatchable!
