Wow!!! I’m so glad you posted this video. I’m an American expat living in France and nothing like this exists here. I’m used to go to our favorite Asian restaurant near Boston and get these all the time, and I miss them so much. Now I can make my own!

Ok, I love this guy 😆. This recipe looked so good, and his reactions at the end were prefect. I gotta start watching Cook's Country again. It's been a while. I want to make this recipe!

If you prep the zucchini first you can drain the zucchini with a bit of salt in a colander for about half an hour, squeeze it in a clean towel as the last step. as you are getting everything else ready, this way less liquid in the batter. Nice dish, will save to my library and make some soon. Thanks!!

These will somewhat fill in for the pakoras I have been craving. I have the ingredients except for the seltzer water. Is there something I can add to the batter to help substitute for that?

Fritters are most commonly used recipe of India. But in India we called it pakoda. And usually we cook these fritters with gram flour.

In South Asia the flour used is of chickpeas. Other vegetables like sliced potatoes, onions, green chili, cauliflower florets are also added. It is a popular snacking item.

Just cooked these and they were indeed delicious. I took the liberties with the veggies. I had sweet potato and fresh corn on hand so I use those and they were absolutely delicious. One downside of this is it really demands a lot of oil. I experimented with how much oil and they basically need to be as deep as they are in the video. Otherwise, they don’t crisp up. it was a little smoky, but it was delicious

Excellent tutorial - well presented. Where can we see more of this person? Question: Although no doubt delicious, frying negates the purpose of eating vegetables. Can these be made healthier by cooking them in an air fryer?

Hi, Asking ATK - how about almond flour. Have you tested this substitute yet? I’m trying to avoid APF now. I think I’ll try this but want to hear from the folks that try variation recipes 50+ times. I love this channel!
@ashleyrusse89452 жыл бұрын
Just in case they don't answer you, they'd probably respond with their own gf flour recipe. They have a really good gf cookbook! Not sure if they've posted the recipe though. From someone who has been gf for years, I'd stay away from almond flour because it would be stodgy and have a sweet weird flavor. There's an asian brand of gf tempura that would probably work well (found at most grocery chains in the US).

The Indians have vegetable pakora recipes that you can make in the air fryer with fewer ingredients, fewer steps and a better tasting fritter.
@tigerdeer3 ай бұрын
If you add salt to the veg half an hour before cooking most of the moister comes out. You then squeeze and use them.

Please drain and leach the water from the zucchini first. I agree with Rio DJeNIRO. Too much water will mess these fritters up.

The recipe for this is behind a pay wall! A very expensive pay wall. They are asking for $45.00 for 12 months for access to moblie websites for recipes, tips and such. I don't know about you but I'm NOT PAYING for any recipe that I can easily get for free off KZbin or the internet for free at any time of the day whenever I want. I'm disliking this video for putting the recipe behind a pay wall. I enjoyed the video and thought it was well done. But putting a common recipe behind a pay wall is just unnecessary.

You add a raw garlic puree inside before you fry it, better you use the thick paper for the hot fritters
