I’m impressed! I live in a 1908 school bldg in PA and I’ve done mosaics but never thought of this! We are maybe 20 years post reno? but… the projects never end. 🏫

Garage suggestion: extend the deck/building and add a pool on top the deck, so you can have the machinery in a utility room underneath, which you could access from the garage. The pool at the end of the deck will also be really easy to fence off for kid safety.

Looks like an awesome project. How did you create the design and did you follow some sort of template to keep tiles aligned while placing them?

No mention of the fabulous woodworking bench under the project? 🤓

Oh you mean the piece of furniture? My brother made it, it’s actually a dog bed/crate! He’s Grizwoodwork on Instagram.

Can you use this same process and materials to make a tile mosaic on your wall?

Did you have to adjust the nippers to cut your tiles? I have the same one you and the jaws are stopping just a few millimeters short from cutting the tile, also the same as yours
@Schoolhousehomestead Жыл бұрын
Oh weird! No I never adjusted my tile nippers, if you want to email pics to Schoolhomestead@gmail.com I can try to look at it but that seems very strange and maybe you got a dud pair? QEP says on their website that these nippers should be able to cut tile as small as 1/8" thick-- "Use to cut irregular shapes in all tile from 1/8 in. to 1/4 in. thick" -- so this seems very strange!

Where did you buy the square unglazed mosaic tile? I’m officially inspired to do this in my own home but I’ve never seen square tiles being sold anywhere.
@Schoolhousehomestead10 ай бұрын
I linked to it in the blog post in the description! The unglazed tiles are from Wit's End Mosaics!

If tile is unglazed, what prevents them from getting stained in use?

Will you grout it?

Yup! Our professional tile installer will when he installs the rest of the tile!

For such a big building, the kids rooms are extremely small.
