Gina, I boil mine almost until dune. Then I reserve about half of the water from the potatoes, and then I discard the rest. Then in that same pot with the sweet potatoes, I add the half back in the pot, then 1 stick of butter and all the other ingredients you mentioned minus the all spice. Then , I let the sweet cook completely while it creates the sauce on the stove about another 15 minutes. I let it sit for 15 minutes removed the heat to candy up the sweet potatoes. I don’t use the oven because that step doesn’t give me the texture I like in the end. It's all dune on the stove top. I don't like marshmallows in mine.
