Love love love your detailed explanations for every single step and also sharing some special techniques in the video. I have been making Oyakodon for many years and your version of oyakodon is much much more flavourful. I also love the sauce without any sugar added. The sauce from other recipes is way too sweet. I just watch your video about making tempura and that’s what I am going to try next 😊

Thank you for this video, it’s one of my favourite dishes just because it’s so quick and easy to make! I’ve heard that oyakodon is one of the first dishes many Japanese people learn how to cook because it’s very simple and fast, is that true? I have a friend who was an exchange student in Japan, he said that his host family taught him so many delicious dishes and that he still keeps in touch with them today as they were so welcoming and kind.

Hi Kunihiro I hope that you are all well and thriving. In answering your question, in SA we have multiple Asian food outlets and grocery stores. So most fresh and dried ingredients are available however I personally have not seen many specialized Japanese food products. Perhaps i need to keep a good lookout for them and use eagle eye vision 🦅 I however love your videos because I learn and broaden my mind especially when you showed us how to break the prawn/shrimp muscles. I was totally blown away. I'd never seen anything like it. Also the fact that you are articulate while simplifying your passion makes your videos all the more viewer friendly. Thank you for your contribution to the wonderful world of food

Thank you for the reply. It's good to know what Japanese products are available in different parts of the world. @@sushibykunihiro7534 Hi, mr,H. Guess what ? The OYAKODON, with out the chicken. Why? Because I forgot to take the chicken out of freezer 🥹. I hav used 7 egg 🥚,& one bigger onion 🧅 7 green onions, 1/2 of red bell peppers, for just appetizing. Looks good taste good yes😊? I also used one can of chicken,Broth w/ 1/2 c of water. NO Chicken?! Chicken?! Use chicken, broth . Guess what ? It okay! Not bad at all. I have used double say, sake, mirin,& sugar. Next week I will make it with CHICKEN! My family liked it so , with CHICKEN, they will love ❤️ it . Thank Y😋U , for the AWSOM recipes. I will let you know next weeks OYAKODON,w/ chicken😊.
