Creating Your Own DIY Organic Lipstick Using Natural Ingredients! 🌿💄(Simple Tutorial)
Ingredients:
1 tbsp Beeswax
1 tbsp Shea Butter
3 drops Lavender Essential Oil
1 & 1/2 tbsp Caramelized Beetroot
1 tbsp Almond Oil
Tools Needed:
Lipstick making mold and kit
Empty lipstick containers
Step-by-Step Process:
Start by grating or grinding beetroot and extracting its juice.
Cook the beetroot juice on the stove until it reduces to half and caramelizes.
Melt the beeswax and shea butter using a double boiling or indirect heating method.
Preparation:
Combine the melted beeswax and shea butter (1 tbsp each) in a mixing bowl.
Add in the caramelized beetroot (1 & 1/2 tbsp), almond oil (1 tbsp), and lavender essential oil (3 drops).
Thoroughly mix the ingredients using the double boiling method.
Pour the mixture into silicone or rubber lipstick molds, filling them to the top.
Place the molds in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to solidify.
Follow the steps demonstrated in the video to remove the lipstick from the molds.
Now, your homemade organic lipstick is ready to adorn your lips with natural beauty!

This can last at least 6 months if stored properly. It’s best to keep it in the fridge or a cool, dry spot-just avoid very warm places. Adding aroma oil is a great idea! You can try lavender, rose, or orange essential oil, but just add a few drops so it doesn’t overpower the blend. Hope this helps

That’s a very good question.. thanks for asking dear… actually you can focus on 150 ml of beetroot juice that can vary from 2 to 3 beetroot depending upon their sizes. Usually caramalization process takes place within 15 mins.. the motive is to reduce the volume (evaporate the water content) of the beetroot juice by 70% to 80%

Minimum 6 months.. for better quality maintenance refrigerate it... It all depends on how good you have evaporated moisture from the beetroot juice

I am not sure about this but you can try... since the ghee texture matches with the Shea butter. Properties wise, ghee acts as a good moisturizer for the lips.

@@carlakniffen9100 Lavender ess. oil has soothing effect on the skin and it also impart a sweet fragrance but this oil is optional and you can absolutely use any other oil in which you are comfortable. Thank you soo much for appreciating my work!

Beeswax is not a preservative, and cannot preserve other ingredients in a formulation. Any formula with even a drop of aqueous ingredient needs a preservative. Else, it's a perfect recipe for microorganisms. I'm a certified Cosmetic formulator/chemist. I have studied with schools based in India and overseas. So I know what I am writing.

I would suggest.. avoid using Titanium Dioxide as far as possible.. it could lead to issues related to our respiratory system in the long term. However if you are left with no other option then once in a while is okay.

Doesn't it go stale? Because it has liquid (beetroot juice) and no preservatives

No.. because beetroot juice which is used in making this lipstick was first caramelized before mixing it with other ingredients. Beewax (Lipstick ingredient) as a preservative has been used since ancient times.

@@Organic_Glam Even if the liquid is boiled at hight temperature, you must include a preservative when there is a water phase otherwise it become a nest of bacteria.

At room temp, it lasts about 2-3 weeks if you’ve removed all the moisture from the beet juice. For longer life, just pop it in the fridge

I am really sorry to hear this.. I know its tricky to mix and demands a hell lot of patience.. but trust me dear try again and you will succeed. Check the following which may be the reasons for not mixing: 1. Caramelize the beetroot juice nicely 2. Use double boiling method for mixing 3. Give it some time to mix (this step needs more time than other steps) 4. Please follow the video step by step. I have mentioned the challenges which I have also faced during the mixing process. Hope this will help you and I will get a piece of good news from you.. soon 😊
