As a French, I saw the video of this recipe in french language and I intend to prepare this meal in a few days. It seems easy to do and, mostofall, it's natural and based on a lot of vegetables. I'm already sure it's delicious. Next time;, I'll prepare gimbaps. Thanks so much for those . DANY

My favorite part of 돌섵 비빔밥 is the crispy rice on the bottom! In Spanish we call it "pegao". There have been many fight for the last bit of rice in my household growing up and it's great for breakfast with a fried egg and sausage with hot sauce!

Made this yesterday. It was fantastic! I used a lightly poached egg instead of fried. Worked great.

Thanks for your feedback happydot. It seems sometimes it depends on the type of gosari and how it was dried. I hope your Korean cooking journey gets better and better. Happy cooking!

비빔밥 was an introductory dish to Korean food years ago with friends in K-town in NYC. I make it at home when I crave it, some of the ingredients you use here I cannot always find though.

I live in New York City, I go out of my way for Asian food shopping. I have not seen "Bracken" or "Platycodon".... I find it more challenging to find the fresh ingredients like, perilla leaves or daikon radish. It is easier to find the dry ingredients, but when I'm at the Chinese or Korean markets, translating the labels is another challenge and I can read Hangul OK, but not Chinese characters. So I find myself playing pictograph between my phone and the items on the shelves.

if u soak gosari overnight, it's still not enough. i followed your recipe but it helps if you boil it for 30min at night and then leave it in there so it's really soft and easy to eat. steph, u wimpy korean! hahha 1 Tb of gochujang! lol i meant to write u before but i'm jaemi kyopo so i've been cooking korean food lately a lot more since we're not using an ajumma here. used to use chosun-jeok ajumma but i think since i'm following all these korean sites to make the banchan, it's so much better!

Can't wait to surprise my man with this! I have trouble finding that red chili paste though...I often find the rooster sauce in stores, but nothing else. I've gone to different korean restaurants it tastes different everywhere, and I don't know what the differences are (except that it must be homemade). Any suggestions?

Haha I'm in between Grace and Steph!!! Sometimes I can be hardcore like Grace (like what I used to do with fried noodles,adding a lot of chili sauce like what my hardcore friends did) and sometimes I am not hardcore like Steph (adding one tablespoon of sauce on the bibimbap I ate at a restaurant last summer) but I'm trying this on a normal bowl soon!!!

@crazykoreancooking

You can use salt instead but soy sauce is pretty key for authentic Korean cooking. You don't have to use all the ingredients. Please go to this page and read tips. Ir explains how to choose ingredients. crazykoreancooking.com/recipe/bibimbap-dolsot-bibimbap-or-bibimbop Happy cooking!

I looked to buy a stone bowl via your link, but the bowls are different then the granite one you use in your video. All the ones on the website are glazed.
@crazykoreancooking
@crazykoreancooking 10 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we decided to sell ceramic stone bowls instead of raw stone bowls because raw stone bowls are so difficult to maintain and less sanitary. The ceramic ones work as well for crunchy rice at the bottom and it’s very easy to use.

lol you did the fried egg wrong..the easiest part of the dish. you had the pan way too hot which is why it bubbled instantly and it was brown on the bottom while still looking raw and watery on the top (because you took it out of the pan before it fully cooked through.
