What really makes this channel so worthwhile is the hands-on 'how is this actually played' approach! 👍

Thanks for the video. What I liked about it - I appreciate the struggle. Not every line came super easy. Sometimes I struggle through making a bass line work and get discouraged when I see online everyone just seems to nail it. Refreshing to see a little struggle.

I love watching you guys playing around together - that is super. This afternoon I'm going to spend about an hour or so doing what you were just doing; playing various drum tracks and noodling out the grooves. Time well wasted I'd say..... thanx A

Since we're talking about playing with a drummer, and you mentioned putting in dead notes, I would like to make one observation. Dead notes sound great, and give a great percussive component to bass playing, but I find when you listen to bass in most rock and pop songs, you won't hear them at all unless the bass is really being featured at the front of the mix. I've seen these bass tabs where people carefully mark out all the ghost notes, and that's nice to learn for sure, and helps with the timing in some passages, but then go listen to the recording and see if you can hear any of that in the mix. Probably not.

Great observation It’s what adds to the feel of the bass line and the groove. It’s a little bit like a drummers ghosting. One of those magic ingredients in cooking that can’t be tasted but add to the over all flavour!

What about the "TOLLBOX" series?! Will there be a continuation? I wait for it every Sunday. There are still a lot of interesting rhythms left: Cha cha cha, disco, R&B, Soul, etc. For me, this series could never end. After exhausting the basic rhythms, it could be continued, for example, as Rock 2, or Countr 2, etc. Greetings!
