I grew up in NOLA so seeing a shrimp stock made for gumbo and other dishes is very common so I'm used to seeing shrimp eyes. 😅 I love seeing you make a stock instead of using a box of chicken stock. You did an awesome job!!! 👍🏾👍🏾

Looks very easy to follow.. never eaten crawfish but I heard they taste like baby lobster. Lover of seafood maybe I’ll give it a try.

If I don't have fish heads and shells, can I just make the stock with a pound of shrimp and then shell them afterwards for the same dish? Or will they overcook that way?
@ThatGirlCanCook_7 ай бұрын
I’m super late responding to this! Sorry! But yes, they will definitely overcook in a stock but simultaneously, they will also make an excellent stock lol. The shrimp will just taste like rubber afterwards lol 😂🩷

Looks delicious! If you can get local Louisiana crawfish tails, I would recommend them. The Bernard’s crawfish tails are from China, making the packing look locally sourced.

You’re absolutely right! It has been a challenge finding authentic brands even being close by in Alabama

This recipe came out so delicious. My only problem is I use dry roux and it did not incorporate well into my veggies and my stock. It’s separated, and did not want to come together. I tried to add cornstarch to thicken it back up, but nothing really worked but overall it was delicious.

Awww, I’m sorry! Hopefully next time a different approach may work better! I’m glad that you enjoyed the flavors and thanks for trying it out! 🩷
