Brilliant. Thanks! Been resisting buying those things, so ridiculously expensive. Can’t wait to make these.

Same, trader joes near me had them for way cheaper than anywhere else, 2 good sized ones for only 5 bucks! But last time I went they were not selling them anymore 😭

I purchased a pet store yak cheese chew and have tried to soak in water for 5 minutes then microwave x 40 seconds. It is the hardest cheese puff I have ever seen. I also am making your recipe, they are in the oven but the shreds from it were limp after being in the microwave, are my dogs not destined to have yak cheese puffs. Thank you

thank you ! I wonder if using a dehydrator would be a good idea?
@Eubones8 ай бұрын
Yes, turn your dehydrator to at least 165 deg f and let them dry. It’s the same.

That should work just fine!

Good idea, I'm looking for something without wheat in it.

Have you ever made flavored ones?

Would skim milk work since it has the lowest fat content, or would you end up with very little curds?

Oh my goodness, thank you for your recipe. I buy this bar maybe every three days. It's so expensive. The sticks I buy smell like smoked cheese. Is it possible that if the milk is boiled longer it acquires a smoky smell?
@mamag3531Ай бұрын
You can add liquid smoke. I put 1/2 tsp for a gallon of milk. I added it after removing from the heat. I just guessed on the amount but you may be able to find a recipe.

Can you use raw goats milk?

@PetLogicAnimalTraining Your recipe in the description above has 1 cup of milk when it should say 1 gallon :)

Can you add starch to the recipe?
@PetLogicAnimalTraining8 ай бұрын
I'm not entirely sure. I imagine it's doable, but you may need to experiment with it.
