Good luck, no way am I putting a downer on it but it’s not as easy as it looks, use a quality resin and a great white like JR - would be great to see the results 👍🏼

I bought th creature liquid latex like you suggest, how do I apply it to the backs of the tiles? How long should it dry before I can paint? Thank you in advance
@clearskiesart2670 Жыл бұрын
You can use a brush, finger to apply a thin layer. Small note, if you put it on thick, it will take longer to dry. All you really need is a thin layer. It will dry pretty fast. Typically I’ll put it on let it dry 4-5 mins, flip it over and start working. ☺️

The board with the bark on it,did you seal it with anything before you poured the resin?Beautiful work there.
@clearskiesart2670 Жыл бұрын
No, just poured the rest and waited for bubbles. Some boards I will seal if it was nit treated. You will get never ending bubbles. Lol

Thank you for your replies. I am so disappointed in my first attempt at doing this technique with the waves.Mine had no foamy appearance. It was actually the first ever resin pour for me.I used dollar tree resin so maybe that played a factor in it.$5.00 for 12 ounces. I used castin craft white pigment and was hoping to get some good looking waves but alas it didn't work for me. What resin where you using?

Ohhh, I tried many times before. 😂 I did find that I like Stone Coat Resin (no lingering fumes) and Just Resin titanium white. Did you make a video?

Hiiii, I was just messing with the different whites and how they reacted to the touch. I still have them in my resin room. 🥰

thanks! this video helps, i also tried this resin style. but i only use the pigment that i can easily get here in malaysia, it doesnt create cell / lacing as much tho.

Have you ever tried white acrylic paint for the waves? I'm just starting out and that's all I've tried so far and I am struggling to get it to not look like clouds. I thought maybe I just didn't have the technique down yet, but now I'm wondering if it's my pigment. 🤷♀️
@clearskiesart26702 жыл бұрын
Acrylic paint is very thick and will not break up. You have had the technique down all this time. 😊 I love using Just Resin titanium white.

Did you put the latex on the sides too? Then peel it off? Would that work on wood?
@clearskiesart2670 Жыл бұрын
No, just on the bottom 🦋

My question, which I have put forth to other DIYers that have gone unanswered is, does this process leave a ridge between the epoxy and your board? If I go about doing this, I want to ensure that the epoxy that I put down with be level with the board surface and not elevated. Thanks for your video.
@clearskiesart2670 Жыл бұрын
Great question. It will leave a small ridge, which is great if you want to show each individual wave. If you want the waves to blend and not have an individual ridge, try putting a clear top coat. 🦋 Hope this helps.

I am struggling so hard right now with my waves....what is your recipe for castin craft and do you wait some time b4 you blow out?
@clearskiesart26702 жыл бұрын
Hi, your resin has allot to do with it. I use Stone Coat countertop art resin with a set time of 45 mins. I typically do not let it sit, but you can. Heat gun nozzle needs to be the tube one and I prefer Just Resin titanium white pigment paste. You can always add in some resiblast as well. I hope this helps. 🦋 You got this!
