Ok so I finally accomplished a pair of these! But just wanted to help any beginners out there with some more advice, because there are a few extra things that I didn't know about that made this project confusing for me. Make sure you do the math correctly. If you decide to do your chains by fours, make sure that your starting chain is going to accommodate for that. So you would have to make a starting chain with a number in the 4's times table. 40 works, 44, 48 etc. Another example is if you decide to go by fives, have a starting chain with somewhere in the 5's times table. 40 still works, 45, 50, etc. Also I had to add two extra chains in addition to the 40 (on the starting chain only). For whatever reason that seemed to allow the chains to line up evenly all the way through. I guess it has something to do with starting on the first chain and not the first loop, and the fact that you have to chain one before turning your work. Not sure if that works the same way for others. But it worked for me! Also, I had to do 18 rows to fit my hand. Which is weird because I have really thin, narrow hands compared to the average person. Not sure how that happened, maybe I stitch too tightly lol. But I guess whatever works! I'm still learning. I realize there is a bit of room to play around with things and you can make little mistakes here and there in this project and it still turned out really nice. Thanks Julia!

The two extra chains are for 1) you skip one chain on the very first row (chain) only, because working into the first chain from the loop on your hook doesn’t work and 2) it both starts AND ends on a single crochet. So it’s like each set of four plus one to end on. (Think like [sc, ch4, skip 4] x8 but then you have to end on a sc)

Thank u so much for the tut! I literally just finished a pair and it's sooo cutee! I have a small tip if any of u wants a more seamless way of joining the side, or if its hard because the stitches doesn't match up. Once you reach the end, you'd want to save the last row of ur total rows. I did 19 rows and by the 20th row, I joined the ends by a sc then proceed to chain half of my original chain (I initially did 4 so I only did 2) then sc alternately to every single hole creating a zigzag pattern which blends seamlessly which the fishnet pattern. Then sc again to join the end then cut and weave the ends. I don't know if my explanation made any sense but I hope its can be helpful to someone!

I did this two times and I realized that if you make your glove really long (like I did) you could leave one end without single crochet. I say this because the first time around, it was very tight and squeezed my arm. By leaving one of the ends without the single crochet, I found it was looser (without single crochet) but also a bit tighter around my hand (with single crochet) (I also made my holes bigger). You definitely want it to be snug but not super loose

So using the scale design working into each chain space you eventually lose one chain space every round, how do you keep it the same size without working until the end of the full row? Shouldn't you work til the end of the full row so you start at the same place and keep the same number of spaces? If you don't then it ends up being less like a cohesive even width x length and more of a pyramid shape because thats how scales work I think a good solution would be finishing off the round on the last lets say chain 4 space with 2 chains or half the length of the chain space and a double crochet into the last row's stitch, that would keep a nice even edge along the sides because it creates a half length loop on the end to fill that gap

Okay if you have absolutely no yarn whatsoever, you can make plastic yarn from grocery bags, it's called plarn and I'm sure you can find a tutorial. Itd pretty thick though, not the same as yarn. If you need a crochet hook A: they sell them at walmart but if you're broke like me then you can B: get a pencil and an old knife and whittle yourself a crochet hook babey Happy crocheting :)

hii im new to this and i followed the tutorial but it wasnt stretchy at all :( does it depend on the mm? or the yarn? it was very stiff
@juliaarriaza
@juliaarriaza 2 жыл бұрын
yes depends on both you might crochet really tightly so maybe try using a bigger size hook

Im makin these rn!! It’s working out well but i think the holes are too small for my thumb to fit through so i was thinking of chaining 5 or 6 every time instead of 4. Does this mean i would skip 5 every time on the first row or is it still 4? Sorry if that’s confusing, but i truly appreciate any help! Tysm for this video :)

Okay wait wait wait i have more questions 😭😭 i got to the point of lining the ends up to slip stitch and the side i started w has 8 fishnet holes and the end has 6 💀 what did i do wrong lolol i think i might have a big know mistake somewhere ALSO when you first single crocheted the line at the top, did you go into the holes like you did with the bottom at 7:19 ish? You first mentioned it there bc it was easier but did you also do that at the top? Sorry for so many questions!!

Yes I think I understand what your saying but how ever many chains you do will be the same number of how many you skip
