Absolutely beautifully done! You're both wonderfully talented and I appreciate all the information and videos too. Bravo!

I used isomalt that is precolored turquoise color. The gold accents were gold sparkle dust mixed with vodka painted on.

wow! these brooches look so real! Amazing! great job

Isomalt is an edible sugar. You would not want to eat too much though as it's a little harder to digest (can causes gas).
@CakeSuppliesPlus11 жыл бұрын
It does dry some. You can use vodka or another spirit instead. (Do not use water on isomalt as it will dissolve itt.)

We don't know about any suppliers in the UK. We ship worldwide. But currently the sugar gun is being redesigned to be even more wonderful. Keep checking our website for when it shows available again.

How did you make the turquoise looking brooche? Did you use colored fondant or did you color the isomalt and add the gold accents? Thanks.

Does the oil dry or does the piece stay oily where the metal dust is?
@Cybersniper68 жыл бұрын
Hi there. I'm sure it has been asked an answered but how do you get the isomalt gems out of the molds without breaking them?
@CakeSuppliesPlus11 жыл бұрын
You don't want to brush on too much oil--just enough to hold the dusts.
@CakeSuppliesPlus11 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure, I haven't tried making them in materials that are not edible.

Hi, I'm having some problems finding some of the products on your site. When I type the product in the search box, they often come up as no results. Even looking for them through the categories is hard for me to find. In particular I am looking for the sassie shotz melting gun and the clear brooch molds. Thanks in advance.

Hi, During the video section when showing the sugar gun, there is a notation that the sugar gun has been discontinued. If you go to the 2:35 time point in the video, there is a link to the brooches and other supplies used in the video. Let us know if you have problems.

Question. When placing isomalt gems on a wedding cake, how should the cake be stored? I ask because i made some isomalt gems and stored them in a box the same way that the cake would be stored and 5 days later they had melted. I cannot store a wedding cake in the fridge as its iced and it will cause condensation.
@CakeSuppliesPlus11 жыл бұрын
If you are in a humid climate, isomalt will not last as long as in a dry climate. It can last months in a dry climate--but sometimes only hours in a humid environment. Desiccant packs are available for use during storage to help absorb moisture.

Where I can buy the molds for brooches
@CakeSuppliesPlus12 жыл бұрын
How far ahead you can make isomalt pieces depends on your climate. In dry climates, you can make them weeks ahead. In humid climates they become cloudy in just a day. You can get disiccant packets to absorb moisture from storage container--on our website. You do not want to store them in the cooler due to the moisture.

Hi, Where I can buy The Sassie Shot (with sugar sticks) and the broochs molds that see in the video? (I live in Italy) Let me Know please... I'm very interested!😉
@CakeSuppliesPlus9 жыл бұрын
veronica8579 Unfortunately the Sassie Shot has been discontinued (notation at about 52 seconds into video). The brooch molds and other items used in the video are available at the link here. During checkout be sute to notice there are two shipping tabs or pull-downs--UPS and USPS (US Postal). USPS (US Postal) is much less expensive. www.winbeckler.com/Brooches-Isomalt-and-Fondant-c1516.htm

There are other dusts (but usually not as sparkly as disco dust) that can be used that are edible.

Some luster/sparkle dusts are edible. Disco Dusts are non-toxic but not an edible and should be used only on decoration pieces that will be removed before serving.
