Oh my goodness, many many many; years ago I was thinking of my sweet Aunt Jo who would make theses for me. So I wan to the store and bought a can of salmon and precede to make a mess. I didn’t understand how to get the temp hot for frying, I didn’t know to drain the fish. Let’s say I didn’t know what I was doing, haven’t tried since. I’ll have to try one day and let you know how they turned out. Thanks for teaching and all the love you send us. Praying for your full recovery with your flooding. Blessings.

This is what I just asked about on your other video comments! These things bring back uh wonderful memories of my childhood and watching my momma cook them for us! She didn’t pick the bones out though she took a fork and mashed the bones all to pieces and combined them. My late mother in law cooked them for breakfast but made them different-she made sweet creamed corn biscuits gravy and scrambled eggs and she scrambled them in her eggs! It is DELICIOUS! I have made them both ways as an adult. I LOVE SALMON PATTIES (or as we call them in Alabama “ sammon patties” lol. Anyway I’m having a very good day watching your cooking videos! Love to you! Leslie in Florence Alabama 🙏🏼❤️

Great video! Some of my family members used to eat these, but I never tried them, so thanks for sharing this recipe. Also, thank you for showing how high the heat should be, what the oil should look like, and how brown the patties should be before turning them: instead of giving specific numbers, sometimes the best thing to do is to show people how it should look. Like I said, another great recipe video!

Do you use Adam’s Fine Stone Ground White Cornmeal in this recipe? P.s., I lived in your neck of the woods (Enterprise, AL) for many years prior to getting married. Loved the Fort Rucker/Daleville area.
@debbyflorence34355 жыл бұрын
Can you use a non stick skillet, I don't have a iron skillet anymore. Those salmon patties look really good. I make my Mom's Salmon Croquettes at least once a month, my husband and I love them. My Mom's recipe is easy and come out great every time and I use a non stick skillet to fry them I love all of your recipes. KEEP GRINDING
@sherrywilliams409 Жыл бұрын
Have you ever made mashed potatoes with your salmon Pattie’s and add some mashed potatoes in your Pattie’s. My mom made them that way and the are so delicious. Not much is added, maybe one half cup. And you can add a slurry using the juice poured off the salmon and some cornstarch. Add the slurry to your salmon then your other ingredients and cook like you normally would.

Looks SO good! I have to try your recipe! When I make salmon patties, I put egg, flour & crumbled crackers in. ( We eat rhe onion raw, on the side). I guess the reason I was taught to add crackers was a way to stretch out the recipe. I can make 8 large patties from the recipe. I do have to try yours out!! 💖🌷💖

Why is it beige rather than pink? Did you add something off camera? Ps. Really appreciate this, I've heard about making salmon patties from friend but she is incapable of explaining how to do it. Lol I've got all the ingredients. Maybe beige is just the color of canned salmon. Guess I'll find out. I would guess this will work with canned mackerel. The $1 store has it and it comes in actual fish pieces with skin on.
