I'm a fairly new sub, and REALLY enjoy watching the journey of taking an already badass truck and making it so much nicer. I have a 2015 model, blacked out my emblems and am fixing to black out the exhaust tips as well. Next step is getting a sport hood and making it functional as well. Thanks for so many ideas I never thought possible!

Looks good. Do you think rain and direct water through the vent will cause any engine issues? I believe the computer is in line with the passenger vent behind the intake. Keep us posted.
@RonAday4 жыл бұрын
Dude, love this channel. Following your input I have performed several upgrades as well as serviced my "lifetime" transmission. lol I was just thinking about how to take these vents out, open the honeycomb, and then turn them into LED flashers and or auxiliary LED high beams. I am even toying with the idea to put color changing LEDs in them that respond to engine RPM or temp. Problem is, blue is a huge no-no here in FL so for the low end of temp/rpm I am not sure what color to make them. Excellent vids and info. Keep it up! Your Karma account is filling quickly.

If I remember right there's a MOPAR kit like this that pairs up the with MOPAR CAI. Includes a new open grill and large rubber gasket to install under the hood that fits to the CAI surround. Obviously prohibitively expensive, but a neat kit none the less. Thanks for the video!
@BoostedMotorsports6 жыл бұрын
Yes sir! Nothing for the drivers side and I will have the procharger in soon too!
@texasfossilguy5 жыл бұрын
Yeah you would think theyd have a duct to pair up both ducts into the CAI or into the super charger. It could be square for most of the way then if you had a tube with some rifling itd make the chaotic and laminar flow into a helical flow for the CAI or supercharger. I am guessing there just isnt enough demand to add this on? Itd be cool if someone made some kind of mod to connect both and put some filters just behind the inserts also to keep out the dirt.

Loving the new mods! Pain stake process to have a great looking badass truck! Well worth it. I have always thought the hood vents should be functional. Can’t wait for a follow up vid. :)

Great stuff for just a few dollars. Wow those trucks are nice. Not cheap in Australia but either is the Japanese junk. They tried this ventilation on German buses in Australia that overheated all the time. Made a little difference but German crap is just not up to the heat and hard work. Hi, a nice way to get more fresh air under the hood....but I'm living in North of Germany with lot of rain in winter. How can I keep water away from the engine while driving? For summer is a very nice and cheap solution. Any idea for Winter - or get a second pair of inlets and leave them stock (without porting the holes) and change them for the hot season....? There is a ton of negative pressure in the engine bay from air passing under the truck with no underbelly but you might be right about a marginal amount of drag 😎
