Mine just showed up today. Cant wait to install it tomorrow. Thank you for taking the time to make this video! It was very helpful!

Sure hope your install goes as smooth as mine did! Good luck with it.

Ended up grinding a bit off the metal spacer provided and helped with bringing that side down more. Problem I have right after install was the ring a about 2 inches off towards the Fender. I'll remove hood mat again and loosen bolts to see if I can push it more in, towards engine side to hit the exact mark like yours did.

Hope you end up getting it worked out the way you want it. Mine is still holding up great, and no issues out of it. I did have to stack some washers to get that one side to fit better, but other than that everything is still doing good. Thanks for watching!

I put functioning vents in my 13 R/T challenger. it helps with heat in the engine bay kind of wish they would have worked like your but still cool. great video sir !

Sounds like a good idea, thanks for the comment!

Yes, the R/T scoops never worked. Only the Classic and SRT worked. I also have a 2010 R/T the real scoops I added. My Classic had working scoops factory. Both the cars were bought new and both have had major problems.

How does it do in the rain ? Great video. Plan on getting one myself.

Thanks for checking it out, so far so good in the rain. I've driven it several times in rain and sprayed water in it when washing and filter stays dry. Very happy with it still! Good luck with install if you go that route.

So it's exactly like stock ram air before modding the air box ? What's the point ? I have my hood vents modded as lights. The stock air box gives plenty air especially with a k and n filter.
@RaymondLamb5 күн бұрын
This is an open vent ram air kit that mates to the Mopar cold air intake. My vent was closed off, but this replaced it so it'll feed fresh air into the filter along with the regular air from the front grille. Was yours open or something, or did you modify it? Thanks for watching.!

Great vid. Just watched and I'm intrigued. I have a '16 Sport and the previous owner had installed a K&N CAI and was wondering if any of the aftermarket guys have a ram intake kit or if Id have to invest in the Mopar CAI in order to have a functioning ram air intake?
@RaymondLamb Жыл бұрын
I haven't seen any other ram air kits out there, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. In my searches, I've only found the Mopar one and then the one I used in this video. You might could use the one I got and customize it to work based on your setup. Hope you figure it out. Thanks for watching!

Did you ever do anything with that spacer?
@RaymondLamb9 ай бұрын
Hey, yes! I got a stack of washers that were roughly the same diameter as the spacer and was able to adjust how many I used to get the height just where I needed it. Worked perfect, seals tight and haven't had any trouble. I also wrapped some tape around them once I had it right so they wouldn't vibrate or make any noise. Thanks for watching.

Looking at this myself, any issues with it?
@RaymondLamb Жыл бұрын
So far so good. I only had the one small issue with the spacer in the kit (that I described in the video), but fixed it with some washers. Otherwise, everything is great. Fit and finish is great and still looks perfect. I drove it in the pouring rain, got home and checked the filter and everything was dry, so that's a plus. I'd do it again for sure. Good luck, hope it works out for you if you go that route!

Have you noticed any mpg difference?
@RaymondLamb Жыл бұрын
Hey! Maybe slightly better on longer trips. I do a lot of short, around town type trips, so my MPG is not that great to begin with. I'm still happy I did it though. Thanks for watching!

Can this work with a stock intake/airbox by cutting the top open to match?
@matpatte16 күн бұрын
Nevermind on this, I see the top half of the stock air box would be unfiltered air if that even lines up. Great that this ramair kit is available for $100, but requires a $600 Mopar intake kit. So I'm definitely skipping this and going on3 turbo kit on the intake side. Crazy this setup is 15% of the cost of going turbo that includes intake.

I thought the same thing, the Mopar setup is PRICEY!!! They think highly of it. I ultimately want to do a procharger setup and it mounts in this location, been trying to brainstorm if I could still use the Ram Air part for any good use with it. Thanks for watching!

What did you end up doing for the spacer?
@RaymondLamb5 ай бұрын
@@MrDwaynePoff hey there, just slowly added washers until I got it to where it needed to be. Wrapped a piece of electrical tape around it to keep it from rattling. Seems to be holding up well. Thanks for watching.

So only one side is functional??...... I'm kind of Iffy on thst setup,,, I live in florida and drive through torrential downpour rain, Not exactly sure i want all that water going into my air cleaner box an soaking my filter,,wich is probably going to get sucked into my engine ,,That little drain hole will not be enough..lol
@RaymondLamb5 ай бұрын
Yeah, just the one side. It feeds right into the CAI box and since there's nothing on the driver's side, they didn't make that one work. Might have been nice for some heat extraction or something though. I was really worried about the rain too! I checked it several times after driving in downpours and it was never even close to wet or holding water. I know this is an aftermarket kit and not from Mopar, but it's modeled exactly as the Mopar one, and I have a hard time believing they'd develop it with the possibility of it sucking up water into the engine. But I still hear you and was nervous too about the water. Hope that helps some! Thanks for watching.

There is supposed to be a 3rd tab in the middle that’s about an inch long. Your must have broke off
@RaymondLamb7 ай бұрын
Interesting, I didn't notice anything. If that's the case, thankfully everything is still holding together just fine and in place, looks like factory still and hasn't come loose. Thanks for watching!
@westwasbest6 ай бұрын
So this is only a solo kit for one side only? Other side remains fake? Kind of pointless
@RaymondLamb6 ай бұрын
I see your point, and it would be nice for someone to make a custom kit that uses both sides and makes them functional. This is just to make at least one work like they should have from factory in my opinion and feed fresh air into the mopar cold air intake. It does do that nicely and this kit is waaaay cheaper than what Mopar charges. Thanks for watching!!
@westwasbest6 ай бұрын
@@RaymondLamb I agree the price is definitely great, you did a beautiful job and it functions well, it would just bother me to have one open vent and one closed vent, maybe even if they had just an open vent that didn't go anywhere on the other side that would be acceptable, at least it would blow down into the engine compartment.
