Incredible how you sprinkled in some music theory and sound design knowledge along with the tutorial. Are there any sample packs or chord packs you'd recommend for newer producers? I will be checking out more of your content!
@khartbeats
@khartbeats Ай бұрын
Thanks so much! I mostly dig through Splice for my samples...I don't usually buy whole packs, but kind of choose individual sounds I like based on the track I'm creating at the moment. Samples from Mars has some really nice drums to choose from.

Your videos are awesome! Do you have any advice for learning these "music theory hacks", or just more about music theory for production purposes? I know the basics from playing instruments throughout my life, but struggle to find what key to use when/what combination of chords or notes will produce the specific mood I'm looking for.
@khartbeats
@khartbeats 3 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! Best advice is to lay down a general chord progression and then tweak the individual notes of each chord from there. I don’t usually have the exact extended chords in my head to start, but just tweak them until they sound nice together. Learning what certain chords can make you “feel” can also be helpful. Like V chords or dominant chords create tension, suspended chords can create a feeling of being unresolved or root chords feel like home. I tend to be a little nerdy with it, but being creative will take you a long way 🙂
