My name is Chizuru and I am a Geiko in the Nanchi Osaka. I have loved Japanese culture since I was a child, and when I was in high school I encountered Japanese dance and the shamisen, and became strongly attracted to the world of traditional Japanese performing arts. At that time, my grandmother told me about the existence of red-light districts, and I fell in love with the charm of this world and began to aspire to become a geiko. When I entered the river, I was able to make connections with many people, and I felt that the circle of people was becoming more connected. I feel that this job is rewarding and I am happy that I am able to receive the support of so many people and watch over my growth. By expanding this "circle of people" to more people, I think it is important to continue to carry on the torch of tradition that has led us to this point. I believe that the movie ``Tsuru-ni-naru'' will not only reflect Chizuru's side as a geisha, but also her struggles and true nature as a human being. I would be happy if you could watch me struggle and explore my way of being in the world of traditional performing arts.

​@@floridafrostbite8002 oshiroi is very transfer proof. When I have done nihonbuyo recitals my oshiroi has been waterproof, sweatproof and mostly smearproof! It does lift off in areas where the abura wax was applied less heavily.

Fascinating. Im from scotland and my next door neighbour was from Japan andd she bought me the cutest little kimono when i was 3 and i loved it. She showed me how to put it on properly and would tell me stories about growing up in Japan and her cooking was legendary. When my dad got sick she would bring him a delicious meal once a week because she flew these enormois prawns in from Japan because she knew they were his favourite and she would serve it with a potato and egg salad and it was delicious. Dad had cancer and cooking smells made him nauseous but he alwas ate what Ryoko brought him. Sadly she passed before dad did but mum andd her husband watch out for each other. Hes 90 and still lives by himself, gardens and grows wonderful veg and walks everywhere. Just a lovely couple to grow up next door too.

This is such a lovely video. The whole process must have taken forever but since she has been in training I'm sure an hour or two from makeup, to hair to wearing the clothes. I found this fascinating. I was astonished by how perfect her skin was BEFORE make up. Her skin is like that of a 6 year old child-- absolutely perfect, like porcelain.
