I'm building a competetive German List at the moment too. I think there are some auto includes for me, like a Nebelwerfer, a heavy mortar, a lmg Team, a Sniper and probebly a Motorbike. For infantry the obvious choice would be schützen if allowed or maybe Jäger for Close Combat attacks throu Terrain. Pioneers and flamethrower Teams are also often a good choice. For the Tank slot, I'm a big supporter of the Polizei M42 Tank. It's basicly a Stuart with 20 shots. The snap to shenanigans are awesome for the germans. I'm often using them to activate my Nebelwerfer and mortar at the start of a Turn.

So, back again, this time with my 1K German list, I've done consistently well with this list.... 70pts - Second Lieutenant Regualr + 2 guys (all 3 with ARs) 79pts - 7 x Reg Strafbat - 3 SMGs 86pts - 7 x Regular Strafbat - 2 infantry with SMGs (not the NCO) + 2 Faust 70pts - 6 x Strafbat + 2 x Faust 65pts - 6 x Strafbat + Faust 60pts - 6 x Strafbat rifles 60pts - 6 x Strafbat rifles 35pts - Med Mortar - Inexperienced 40pts - Motorbike + sidecar 65pts - FlaK36 (heavy autcannon) 145pts - Sdkfz 7/1 Truck with Flak Vierling on the rear 8pts - inexp Horse Drawn limber 54pts - Regular Truck w/MMG 54pts - truck 54pts - truck 54pts - truck Orders dice = 16 Army cost - 999pts - Working on the rule of 6, that even if needing a 6 to hit that one of the squad will roll that 6 for the pin - HQ pumps out 5 shots too, so another infantry unit - I can put about 14 pins on the enemy army per turn (ignoring the mortar and horse of course) - won't bother with outflanking, will just drown one side of the board in pins. I've pinned out several vet units within 2 turns before - the flak truck will set up mid table and swing left or right as needed, using Snap to with the other trucks to move after the 7/1 has moved to give mobile cover - just pin enemy armour or push it back due to all the fausts - Snap to on units sonthat I overwhelm one side of the board. That's 3 units that are pumping out pins in one go - amass the trucks and motorbike on one side in one lump to drown that side of the table - try to kill off at least one or 2 squads early on and roll that side of the table, switch to the other half. - try to jump enemy squads that have taken their orders already to secure the kills and pins - either avoid or take on heavy armour by pinning - defeat in detail - so set up to overwhelm one side of the board and to then swing to the other side once captured - viewing regulars as cheap vets rather than the poor man's choice of decent infantry - avoid buying overly expensive heavy armour - don't sweat the losses and keep pouring pins on Probably more but that's more or less it Cheers

@@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846 hi Bo, no, I didn't take them as Shirkers. If the points limit is smaller (a 750pts army for instance) then a couple of units would be. The reason for Strafbat is that 3 models can have SMGs rather than only 2 for standard Grenadiers. I don't buy ARs as SMGs pretty much do the same job, so that's why I went with strafbat. I've mistakenly put 2 Fausts on them when they are allowed only one per unit, but I'll just shift those 'extra' ones to the units that don't have a Faust. Does this look all OK? It's just the sheer amount of pins that can be dealt out with some degree of assurance that I will hit that is great about it (6 dice(or more) to shoot usually means at least one hit) No massive long range AT punch and lacking HE but no real problems in game so far for 'not' having those types of units

Hi, thanks for the vids, trying to see if I can get through a few of them, I've been playing BA for about a year, fairly comfy with small arms, some of the vehicle rules, pinning, morale etc. Still need to get my head around artillery, buildings, haven't even started reserves or anything, or played more scenarios other than kill everyone or capture 3 points on the table. If I posted my army list here would you give some feedback on it? I'm keen on Brits, think I have an OK list. Maybe not massively competitive but I'm comfortable with it. Thanks for the vids 👍🏻

National trait - Rifle drill Forward Artillery - regular - free 60pts - HQ - Inexperienced 1st Lieutenant (SMG) 116pts - Squad 1 - 9 regular infantry, 2 x SMG, 1 x LMG 116pts - Squad 2 - 9 regular infantry, 2 x SMG, 1 x LMG 96pts - Squad 3 - 7 regular infantry, 2 SMG, LMG 96pts - Squad 4 - 7 Regular infantry, 2 SMG, LMG 83pts - Squad 5 - 6 Regular infantry, SMG, LMG 83pts - Squad 6 - 6 Regular infantry, SMG, LMG 100pts - Forward artillery officer - regular 35pts - Medium Mortar - Inexperienced 65pts - Flamethrower - Veteran 40pts - Piat - Regular 50pts - Sniper- Regular 60pts - Bofors- Regular Total - 1,000pts Strategy - Bofors on Ambush from back of the field, or to snipe AFVs or infantry Mortar similarly positioned Inexperienced officer uses larger infantry squads as meat shields, keeps up with them to keep Momentum going using command counter any pins Larger squads move up to take objectives/ get stuck in Medium units back up 2 larger ones 2 smaller squads sit nearer the back to keep putting pins on General support from sniper, flamethrower and PIAT FOOs - used to suppress either the target area I'm attacking or the side I'm not. Heavy armour will be tricky to deal with, but assuming I'm not against Veteran AFVs then I'll suppress with arty, BOFORS, PIAT and flamethrower, then the infantry hopefully enough to roll-over the presumed lesser amount of squads the enemy has.

@@arkenhemnall6224 Right, there are a few questions I have and some suggestions for what you might try. A: when you write "rifle drill" do you mean "rapid fire"? where you get extra rifleshots per 3 rifles? If you do then one of the things I would suggest you try is to make sure you have 6 rifles shooting in each of your infantry units. Right now 4 men in each unit are not contributing to those free rifleshots (2 of them have SMGs and 2 are firering and loading the LMG) B: for offensive units LMGs are not worth the points (they never are, but they have even less of a purpose if you mean to have the unit move up to the center-table as thay are paying points for the range of the LMG, which they are not using) C: LMGs for backline units are too expensive but have a tactical purpose, I would cut the LMGs from your medium and large sized units, and keep them on the back-line units. D: the artillery observer is free for Brits E: buy a small truck or jeep for your piat or flamer. It will make them waaaaaaaay more usefull and dangerous. That is where I would start.

@@boltactiontutorialsbybomor3846 yeah, ha ha, rapid fire! Rifle drill I think was from my own game I wrote anout 10 years ago that's like Bolt Action, same.kinda principle. Yeah, I guess save the 20pts for the LMGs, get effectively 2 rifleman back which also bumps up the one extra shot for every 3 rifles, so in effect that's not just the 2 rifles but that extra shot too. So only one shot less than with the LMG but for the hefty 20pts saving. 👍🏻👍🏻 I did have a regular truck in the list to start with so repurchasing that for the PIAT team (and flamethrower?Plus a smaller infantry squad?) would make them a mean combo. Ok, that's great, yeah the extra FOO was to really go for it on the pinning in one area. The free one is great but I've sometimes had the freebie taken out early, and I like the overkill potential. It also balances that I have not much to counter decent AFVs and so the extra pinning gives me confidence to be able to hamper tanks etc and let me get on with the rest. Would you say that the Inexperienced officer is an issue? He gets -1 to his shooting and his 3+ does make him a bit vulnerable but the +2 Command bonus and activating the 2 extra units still makes him do pretty much whatever I need him for. I half a mind to not have the sniper as they are kinda hit and miss, I'd rather have massed firepower from units than rely on a single 3+dice. Great stuff, it's quite a deep game when you get into it 👍🏻

@@arkenhemnall6224 I always use an inex Lt. It saves points and he is not needed for the killing. giving him an SMG will mean that he is pretty likely to hit if those shots are evere needed.
