Here's an easy fish cutlet recipe. How to make Goan fish cutlet. Easy recipe for Mackerel fish cutlets. In the real sense, these could be considered as Goan fish croquettes.

Ingredients
4 fresh Mackerels (Bangdas) 500g
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp vinegar / 1 ½ tsp lime juice
1 tsp oil
2 cloves garlic, crushed
6 tbsp water
1 tbsp oil
7 green chillies (around 3" long), chopped
¾ cup finely chopped onions
1 tsp cumin seeds
2 tsp crushed ginger
2 tsp crushed garlic
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp ground pepper
½ tsp + ¼ tsp salt
¼ cup breadcrumbs / 2 bread slices
½ cup chopped coriander
¼ cup vinegar / 3 tbsp lime juice
1 egg
Breadcrumbs or Semolina

Wonderful! The tips are very valuable & a welcome add-on. I am wary of using mackerel, rohu for cutlets & prefer to just deep fry the pieces & I haven't developed a taste for salmon, king fish or basa, so I'm left with a limited choice of pomfret, black pomfret & larger sea fish. Thank you very much for this recipe which has embodiment me to try out your technique of using mackerel etc to make cutlets. As I mentioned earlier, I am very fond of Goan cuisine, & over the years have collected a bunch of recipes from Damma, who voluntarily shared some of her recipes seeing my interest in Indian & International cuisine. Sorry to bother you again...but can I make them...not fry them yet....n keep overnight in the fridge n fry them next day?Any tips to store them for longer?thx a lot. potluck is tomorrow!

@@khursheedtuli5931 , after breading the cutlets, store them in an airtight container putting sheets of parchment paper between layers and store in the fridge if you're going to fry them the next day, or in the freezer for frying after a week or so. No need to thaw before frying.
