How To Make - Hand-tied Calla Lily Shower Style Wedding Bouquet

Sometimes the flowers are all you need to create a wedding design and the small calla lilies are perfect for creating a simple design to carry. They have feature stems with a lovely curve and simple structural heads. In this video we show you how to create a handtied bouquet suitable for a wedding, and to finish off the design we bind the stems with an aspidistra leaf and decor wire. This allows the bouquet to be made in advance. Watch and enjoy - you could even make this for home to go in a classic vase.

Beautiful. Very modern, very organic looking bouquet. Can an Aspidistra leave survive with the body heat if a bride is holding it in her hand for couple of hours? Say like ceremony and photos taken time?

You make it look so easy, I'm on vacation from college now till September, I so need to practice hand tied as level three will have a lot of hand tied, I see you added the flowers but didn't turn the bunch is it easier doing it that way?

croccatcher the more you practise the better - and you can try different ways such as turning or just placing the flowers. I think I use different ways depending on the content, so practise and become comfortable with different flowers and techniques. Remember to enjoy creating as well!

Yes - of course! You could use these more as a focal flower . The roses have straighter stems so that might be more problematic to get the ‘drop’ and make sure any thorns are removed so they don’t damage the calla stems - or the bride! 😀🙋🏼‍♂️🌼

Libra thank you for the comment - yes, the aspidistra will last really well. It is a good alternative to a ribbon binding as you can do it in advance and it's fine getting wet!
