Thank you for sharing. I appreciate your clear instructions, especially the amounts you used of the ingredients. I made my first jelly yesterday (raspberry/blueberry), and after procesing the fruit, I ended up with 5 cups of juice. I used my limited math skills to add 6 and 1/2 cups sugar, 6 Tbsp pectin, and 1 Tbsp lemon juice. I was like you - I had a half-jar and all if did was float in the canner.so I left it out overnight and will try it on toast for breakfast. Thanks again!

I got a new to me water canner and it doesn't have a rack on the bottom. I used it today and just put a dish towel on the bottom of the pan, added my jars, then the water. it worked perfect.

The recipe you showed it said 5 cups Im told dont altar recipes it will compromise the jellies final setting correctly is this true because you used 6 now not sure what I m supposed to do haaaa help please

Oh! Thank you for catching that. I said 6 cups of sugar when in fact it is 5 cups of sugar. I did use 5 cups. I just misspoke. Again! Thanks for catching that.

Yes, jellies require tons of sugar. However, you can make it with less sugar.
